Recommend a good appliance store? Our microwave is wearing out, and I'm having a rough time finding any sort of decent selection in the appliance stores around here. I...

If you're that close by, you should be aware there's Home Depot/Lowes/Target/Walmart/Best Buy/Sears all close to the mall. I'm honestly suprised that from all those you couldn't land something. If you're looking to go smaller, there's the [Morgan and White slash Shore TV](http://www.shoretvmorganwhite.com/index.html) here in Groton and OS. Then I guess there's [Keith's](http://www.keithsappliances.com/).

Have you tried Morgan and White in Groton? Good place, needs your business so they won't try to sell you crap.

There's also Hallocks in West Haven or Branford. I know the Branford location also has a scratch and dent section if you are interested in saving a few bucks. The website is pretty lame - www.hallocks.com - but has contact info/directions. Salespeople have been helpful and not pushy the few times I've been there. One other option is the Sears Outlet in Orange - big open warehouse type building with all kinds of appliances and furniture, good place to see things up close and get an idea if things would work for you. Good luck!

Like was mentioned above... there's the typical HD, Lowes, Best Buy and Sears, but there is also PC Richards in Connecticut. Not sure if there is one near you though.

Thanks for all the suggestions. This should help a lot. I regret to inform all of you that I'm a moron. I've been into Best Buy 4 times in the last month to drool over laptops, and I never even thought to walk around the corner and look at microwaves. Last time I was in Morgan and White, all they had was over-the-oven microwaves (which would entail a lot of kitchen remodeling that we'd really rather not do), except for 1 that looked like it had been sitting there since the Eisenhower Administration. I found one at Sears, but they didn't have it in stock except for the floor model that they didn't want to sell, and for some reason they couldn't ask the warehouse to send one in. That used to be a great company. I'll go up to Keith's, and I'll go down Route 1 to those other places if need be. I think the nearest P C Richards is in Meriden or Wallingford.
