Lindsay, I really like Robert Battista at Ear Institute of Chicago, in Hinsdale. He teaches courses on AudiologyOnline.com; and he also simultaneously implanted Wendi Tirabassi Kast back in 2008. You might be able to lasso him into a meeting presentation, too. http://www.ChicagoEar.com

Mark M. replied:
For anyone who experiences sudden hearing loss, the ER is not a bad choice. If I hadn't been able to get an appointment this morning with an internist, Urgent Care would have been my next step. Catching this early and hitting it with steroids significantly reduces the chance of permanent hearing loss.

For anyone in the Chicago area: Do you have an ENT that you love and would recommend?
Chad M. replied:
Dr. Timothy Hain is a well known and highly regarded expert on Meniere's Disease and he is in Chicago: http://dizzy-doctor.com/cv/cv_hain.php I love his website on Meniere's treatments, but I have not seen him personally.
Hi Neighbors, do any of you have recommendations for an ENT? Nearby is great, but not necessary.
Sara K. replied:
Not near by exactly but depending on peds or adult...our little guy sees Dr Mark Gerber (who we love) who's out of Northshore and I see Dr Stephanie Smith at Northwestern.

My daughter saw Dr Baim and we really liked him. His office is (was) on Lincoln in the building where the Apollo Theatre is located. Very old school office, but Dr Baim was wonderful and no nonsense. We first saw Dr Friedman at Illinois Masonic. We did not like him at all. He was very, very insistent that my daughter needed this sleep study, that my insurance was not going to pay for. He would not even move forward with evaluating her for a tonsillectomy (very large tonsils for years, repeated infections) until she had the study. Come to find out he also owned the sleep center. The whole clinic just felt like a testing walk-around for racking up the bill. So I can give him a

Lisa C. replied:
Dr. Alexander Goldin out if Lutheran. He has done my sinus surgery, my dad's and brother in law. He has put tubes in Austin 3 times too. Keep a log of everything you do and eat and write down what triggers it. Most ENT's want to see that so they can narrow the possibilities down. In the meantime try Sudafed severe cold. It helps my migraines a lot. Hope you feel better!
