Can highly recommend Home Based Care in a gorgeous rural setting in Halswell with Delaine Veitch Watkins. She has my almost 3 year old daughter and she is thriving with her and the small family group with excellent 1:1 attention.
Halswell Playcentre is great - run by parents and encourages children and their families to learn alongside each other. We also welcome carers other than parents, ie, grandparents, nannies or home based to join us.

I guess it depends on why she isn't enjoying her preschool. Both mine found large kindy/preschool too overwhelming until they were 4 - 41/2 years old. Halswell Playcentre is fantastic if you are able to be there at least some of the sessions. We also used Porse and that was really great. Unfortunately their wonderful teacher no longer teaches but I'm sure they have others in the area.

Buttecups Preschool is a fantastic new place with fantastic staff who are very caring and engaging. My daughter loves playing with all the new toys - many made from recycled plastic. All the furniture is wooden and they have cool tactile craft areas. They serve nutritious meals which is a BIG time saver when getting ready in the morning. Plus they have a fun outdoor area with a big ramp that my daughter loves running up and down. She was with another preschool prior to this one but she is absolutely thriving here. Lots of fun activities in a calm, clean and spacious environment. www.buttercupspreschool.co.nz/
