Hey just wondering if anyone knows of any cheapish Dentists that are good and of anyone who does float training that is semi cheap? Looking for ones around Canterbury...

Cheap and dentist does not go well in my opinion, Gerard Treacy is amazing and think he was $90 when I used him recently.

Float training i used a guy called Hugh Ensor for my TB, he had him on the float within 10 mins and everytime after that, just brilliant Shelley Ensor
Harry McArthur or Julien Sparks both very patient with horses..couldnt fault them!

For float training use Shayne Carrick $350 with a 100% guarantee also fantastic f/u service if required without extra charge. Dentist I use Alan Vlieland (sp) lovely guy and works well with the horses.

Harry McArthur charges $80 for one horse, or $70 for two or more horses. He is absolutely fabulous, and I would never use anyone else now! He was so lovely and gentle with my worry wart of a horse:)

The Canterbury DHB fundsemergency dental care for low-income adults. Participating dental practices in Canterbury provide these services. Eligibility To be eligible for subsidised emergency treatment, you must live in Canterbury or the West Coast. You must also have a current Community Services Card. Definition A dental emergency is defined as pain, swelling or an infection that is bad enough to cause you significant disruption. Emergency dental care is a one-off treatment of the problem. If you need further dental care, you will have to pay the dentist’s usual fees for this. Treatment Participating dental practices allow a for a 30 minute visit. During this time, a dentist will assess the problem and provide any necessary dental treatment. If the dentist decides that the condition does not meet the definition of a dental emergency, they will charge their usual fees. Patient co-payment You will have to pay a co-payment of up to $40 for a visit under this scheme.

I visit Liam Walshe at Cashmere Dentists. Very good technician, and a nice and friendly chap. Cant compare prices as I have been going there for 25 years.

Go for a dentist that will do a proper check-up that includes cleaning your teeth. Many only have a look and they take x-rays, which is why they seem cheaper, but they them have you come back (and pay more) to have your teeth cleaned. Kilbirnie Dentists are just lovely and will give you a checkup and a clean

I also followed Ben from New Brighton dental to Garden City dental and its been great. Had to get a crown capped and filling done in the past couple of years and the prices have been similar to other dentists

Dr. Dave Chambers at 104 Ricc Rd. is really great. He's super nice and friendly, definitely won't judge you and both Tom Goulter and I were in and out of there (we had cleanings and then an examination + X-rays) in less than an hour. Also, I remember it being ridiculously cheap (something like $120 for everything), but that was 2011 so the prices are likely different now.:)

I went to G&E Dental last week. The same as you, didn't know who to go to, but these guys are open late nights (just about every night) which worked for me when I wanted a tooth out in a hurry.

My sister is at University of Canterbury and apparently there is cheap dental options if you have a student card, apparently some dentist in Burnside does it at a discounted rate. I go to Dana Dental myself and she is cheaper than average, but it still costs a lot.
