Looking for a good jeweler. My wife's wedding ring needs some major repair. I know of Kreugers downtown and Lane Wells up north. Any other good jewelers around town? ...

I can't recommend this place enough: http://www.abercrombiegems.com/

I can recommend Gallerie Jewelers. Ted and Corey are a husband and wife team who have always taken care of me. I had some jewelry fixed and they even designed and made my fiancée's engagement ring. She loved it and so did I. Also, if you're a dog person they have the sweetest Rottweilers you'll ever meet (they've kinda become the mascots of the place). http://www.galleriejewelers.com/home.htm

Thanks for all the recommendations. Ill be calling them tomorrow.

So far I've had good experiences with repairs done by J.D. Reid Co. on Hancock, they're primarily a jewelry supply company that also does sales and repair. You'd need to call them before heading over, their number is (512) 454-0000.

Antique diamond engagement rings Looking for a antique jeweler around town. My budget is $3,000-$8,000. Anyone have good recommendations?
at1cad replied:
Grandview Mercantile used to have a great selection. Not sure if all the dealers made it to the new location.
DeeLite04 replied:
I suggest Etsy to be honest. My husband got my antique Edwardian diamond ring from a seller who specializes in estate jewelry. The only other place in town would be Grandview Mercantile or the Greater Columbus Antique Mall.
picklelady replied:
I searched Etsy for "antique diamond engagement ring" and set the location to Columbus: https://www.etsy.com/search/vintage?q=diamond+engagement+ring&use_mmx=1&vintage_rewrite=vintage+diamond+engagement+ring&original_query=2&locationQuery=4509177

Go see Alexander at Alexander's in the Short North. Friendly Russian guy. Very honest. Has nice jewelry new and antique jewelry, including estate.

Having recently visited several jewelers shopping for an engagement ring, more and more are carrying vintage rings. I would suggest Argo & Lehne in Upper Arlington (they had a decent selection, might be worth a call).
BlueberryQuick replied:
I wanted a vintage ring (not a diamond, though) and it wound up being cheaper to have it made custom. We bought the stone and took it to a jeweler who made a cast and then made my ring. This all happened in Chicago so I don't have a name for you and I don't even know if this is a help, but it wound up being cheaper in the long run to do it that way than to buy an antique ring (with a diamond). If you're open to that, buy a diamond ring from a pawn shop and just use the stone in a new/old setting. You'll save a lot.
HamburgerDinner replied:
I'll be that guy. Buy a ring for $500 bucks and go on a great vacation together with the money that you saved.

The Village Jewel on High Street. Mostly antique jewelry.
Brutusismyhomeboy replied:
I highly recommend The Village Jewel in Clintonville. We bought a wedding band to go with a vintage engagement ring we bought elsewhere (out of state). We looked at a lot of places and even looked into having something made. They have a great selection and we found something perfect for a great price. I'd also recommend Grandview Mercantile, they're expensive, but definitely not out of your budget.

Hi all, my wife and I are '05 Domers new to Cincy. Is there a regular place for game watches this season?
Allison H. replied:
Hi Matt! Welcome to the club! My husband Patrick&I are new to the club as well. I know many people go to Obryon's to watch the game a lot. I have been looking for some ND friends to host at our house for games! We have a great 65 inch screen w surround sound and I am a chef and just love to host friends, especially for football! So we live on the east side, between Anderson&Eastgate, so if there are a few ND friendlies who wanna come watch let us know! Go Irish! We would also love to meet anyone who's going to Ireland Sep2012. We have booked our trip- I am a Navy veteran so can't wait to see ND play Navy in Dublin.
