If you are riding your own horses, the trail options and length of rides are endless, there is so much land to explore off property including a 3- hr round trip ride to the river. If you are riding a ranch horse on a guided ride, it will be on the lovely trails on the Ranch Property. It is about 2 hrs total with a mini-lesson on horse handling and riding beforehand and you saddle your own horse, for $35. Call Penny Blackburn or Justin Blackburn at the ranch to discuss the trail ride options. They are my mother in law and husband, so of course I'm partial to FHR, it's the beautiful place where I live!

My friend Tara Varrelman Gokey's family has a ranch up at Alta Lake. I have heard nothing but great things about this working ranch. http://www.altalake.com/whistlinpineranch.html
Hey all, I'm leaving Seattle at the crack of dawn on Friday to camp out near Lake Cle Elum. I'm looking to do a dual sport route that will, ideally, leave the highway...

I've mapped a route from Stampede Pass to Taneum before but haven't ridden the forest road parts of it. Unfortunately the only way I know to get across involves riding singletrack in Taneum until you can connect to NF-4510. I don't think that route would be doable on a 950 unless they're a bad ass rider. See for yourself here: http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/stelprdb5317428.pdf

In at Stampede out at State Hwy 410. Back in at FS 1700 (Bald Mtn) out at FS 3100. Up Fs 3100 out at Taneum. Good long ride. Google Earth and Google Maps are your friends. After Stampede and while on FS 1900 there are trails that will put you at Taneum. FS Cle Elum has a good Mtr Rec Map.
