Food? Where is the food?
Team Managers? Bill Ryan? A Anyone familiar with downtown Cleveland - when at the convention center - are there any local eateries? Do they...
Shannon R. replied:
There are many places to eat in downtown Cleveland. We will likely receive something in our welcome packet about the things to do and places to go. In the meantime, you can do your own research online. I found thisiscleveland.com immediately upon typing restaurants and Cleveland in google.

As a Buffalonian, we love to zip down to Cleveland. Two Must Sees: Restaurant Row on EAST 4TH ST (right near Quicken Loans Arena) and the beautiful, landmark WEST SIDE MARKET (Open daily; now open Sundays noon - 6 pm.) Lots of cool restaurants in that neighborhood, too. YUM-O! I found lots of variety for my various nutritional limitations. www.WestSideMarket.org.

To anyone that may have extra time Northeastern Ohio is beautiful wine country with some great family wineries....my personal favorite Chalet Debonne in Madison Ohio....
Amy N. replied:
Remember to plan ahead for dining because the NBA Finals are in CLE on Friday 6/10 and AHL Calder Cup Finals on Saturday, 6/11. Lots of basketball and hockey fans in Believeland next weekend.
Terri S. replied:
You can also take RTA Healthline to Little Italy, which is on the Case Western/University Hospitals campus. http://www.riderta.com/healthline/about
Terri S. replied:
Lots of great restaurants and little shops (and couple great Italian bakeries) in Little Italy. Outdoor seating available on the street. http://clevelandlittleitaly.com

Joanne Where on God's green earth do restaurants close on Saturday and Sunday? The weekend is the best revenue generator of any restaurant.
Ken S. replied:
There are quite a few places to eat in the downtown area, pizza places, CVS pharmacy and the Food Network chef Michael Symon has several restaurants in the area.
Terri S. replied:
I'm guessing he was just mentioning the CVS to be helpful. But surprisingly, there is some great dining and beautiful views at the grocery store downtown: http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2015/02/why_heinens_downtown_cleveland_store_is_more_than_just_a_supermarket.html Highly recommended
Terri S. replied:
Lots of great dining establishments, including two of iron chef (Cleveland native) Michael Symon's restaurants on E 4 th St. Very lively on the weekends! http://www.east4 thstreet.com/dining

Molly K. replied:
Psst. NebrasKon is capped at 6 k, which is pretty close, and it's comprised of some pretty cool people. Just saying. :3 I believe our vendors/artist hall is full for the year already (We sell out REALLY fast), but for those interested, we're usually the first or second weekend of November at the Coco Keys Ramada in Omaha, Nebraska. More information can be found here: http://www.animenebraskon.com
Molly K. replied:
O Comic Con is run by some of the same people that do NebrasKon, too, so while it's a first-year convention, it's being run by people with experience in the field. o:
Hey all I will be out at the Cleveland convention center for the tattoo convention. Where can I find good vegan food around there, I'm not familiar with Cleveland.
Vania V. replied:
I ate pretzels at the convention center yesterday (wasn't in the mood for salad), but there are a few restaurants around public square: https://www.google.com/maps/search/vegetarian+Restaurants/@41.499641,-81.7004988,15 z/data=!3 m1!4 b1
Roxanne O. replied:
Near the convention center, I think Helio Terra is your best option on a weekend. Heinens, the grocery store downtown, also has a lot of vegan friendly "grab and go" options.
I will be a first-timer at Tekko next week. Do any folks who've been before have recommendations on good places to eat in/around the David L. Lawrence Convention center?...
Robin K. replied:
I got food from this place last year twice and it was soooo good. Probably the best food I've had while at a con. It's right across from the con center and you can order online then run to pick it up!! emporioameatballjoint.com

Doubletree. Holiday Inn is across the street, and the road can be a little hectic to cross, so cross in large groups if possible
Jillian R. replied:
For a few years I always used Holiday Inn across the street. But then I had trouble getting a non-smoking room. And when I had to settle for a smoking room 2 years ago, it aggravated my asthma. (Thankfully they were able to switch to a less offensive smoking room.) So last year I tried the hotel across the bridge, Hotel Somerset Bridgewater. All rooms non-smoking and we got a mini fridge. I was very pleased and booked again for this year.

Justin L. replied:
They sell them at Office Max and sometimes even Starbucks. As far as I know, the older ones won't work any more. I had to buy a new reader at a con to replace one of the older, thicker ones that was made obsolete by an update.
