Welcome!! We moved here over 5 years ago fromOhio and love it. All of the elementary schools are great, we love Glenwood best. I'll have two in Jefferson this fall and we have had no problems there. I teach at a parents day our program at my church Kern UMC and love the kiddos. Hope your move goes smoothly!!

For grocery you have Aldi, Food City, Kroger and Hanks Market. Rue 21, Dicks sporting foods, Panda Express. Several new things! Stay away from West Outer close to Illinois on both sides!

Most of the streets are in pretty much alphabetic order. So East end starts A. There are some that are not alphabetic tho. I have lived here 43 years. In my opinion the streets that start A-G are good. Emory Heights and Briarcliff are good neighborhoods....mid-high end. When you get into some H streets off Highland and near the Children's museum off West Outer there are alot of older homes and there seem to be more drugs around there and more older houses that are rentals. L-P streets are decent. For the most part its one of the safest cities to live in tho and very little crime. Woodland Elementary is really great. Jefferson Middle is great too. I would suggest staying on that school zone side myself which is the East side of oak Ridge.
