We particularly enjoy Majolica in Phoenixville and Detterra in Ambler. Both have a lovely atmosphere however Detterra can sometimes be a little bit loud depending on who is dining that evening. If you request and upstairs table it will be quieter. Mango Tree is also great but I am not sure I would call it romantic.

Carl Venezia Meats on Germantown Pike in Plymouth Meeting. They have served me well in the past. Also, I don't shop at Wegmans much but their meat selection is great. I go there for their pork shoulder. Always have a bunch in varying sizes

Top Shelf Meats and Seafood. Doug Bernardini is the nicest guy in the world and he comes to your door once every 4-6 weeks (sooner if you need something and he's in the area). Email him at meatman@ptd.net. His stuff is out of this world - great quality and reasonably priced.
Any recommendations for a seafood restaurant? Blue crabs, scallops etc. would prefer to stay away from chains. Thanks
Kara O. replied:
Sorry. Accidentally hit a button lol. Not LP. But I really enjoyed Joe's Crab Shack in Kop. Been to nippers a few times. Great the first time was really disappointed the next times but will prob give it another chance cause I love small n local. But joes was great every time
Julie S. replied:
Nothing better than Parc Bistro in Skippack - delicious dishes - fresh fish, scallops, and shrimp. Chef Bill is the best local chef. Stay away from chains - not same dining experience. They have a nice outdoor dining area behind the restaurant if you like that.

Liz K. replied:
I love the Kabab Cafe as well - great food & warm, friendly service. For authentic Sichuan cuisine, try Han Dynasty in Royersford. I have traveled to Sichuan, China, and can vouch for its authenticity. I'd also recommend the Dosa Hut and Chaat House for great south Indian food.
Stephenie B. replied:
We love Indian food and recommend Shagun in Collegeville. Chicken Tikka Masala is the way to go if you want to try Indian. It's not too spicy.
Kate M. replied:
We have quite a few great Korean restaurants in the area. KoKo BBQ in North Wales (Assi Shopping Center) is reliably good.
Laura K. replied:
We haven't tried the Indian restaurants in this area yet, but we have liked the Mango Tree Bistro on Ridge Pike (Thai), August Moon in Norristown (Japanese/Korean), El Burrito in Phoenixville (Mexican), and Bonjung Japanese Restaurant in Collegeville.

Forno Antico in Collegeville is our favorite. It's a BYOB and truly authentic Italian food. The owners are wonderful and will make you anything you want. Reservations are a must on the weekend.
Sue U. replied:
Although everyone in LPT will recommend Gino's and Tosco's, I think they both make a poor red sauce, I've tried eating pasta dishes there many times but haven't acquired a taste for their sauces. I recommend Ristorante Castello in Blue Bell, but it's a bit fancier than Gino's or Tosco's.

My favorites: For Mexican, it's Tortuga's, hands down. Also a fan of Appalachian Brewing Company (which could be considered a small chain) with some of my favorite beers and decent menu. For pizza/sandwiches, we bounce back and forth b/w Tosco's and Franco's. Main Street was pretty decent but not as big a fan after the ownership change. Chapp's has a nice beer selection and is usually pretty good, too.
