I attended shelton from 3 rd grade to 8 th that was in 1994. there is also the Winston school and if you are looking for a awesome public school Stonewall Jackson in Lakewood Ian amazing. They used to be the charter school for the hearing impaired. My daughters both go there currently. They teach the kids ASL. Starting in Kindergarten. My daughters are in 2 nd and 4 th grade. I would say look up Dallas Independent School Districts another will give you all the area public schools but for special needs Shelton and Winston are the way to go. They so offer scholarships since its about the same as a college tuition but so well worth it speaking from experience.
Texas has local PTI center for families that can help them with the local community districts. Partners Resource Network is a PTI center in Texas. Good Luck, Candy Reyes- SN Parent Advocate/ Fort Bliss, Tx

We have just arrived at Joint Base Lewis McChord. Anyone have school and ABA therapy provider advice?
Karen R. replied:
We've been here exactly one year as of yesterday. My son is in the Bethel School District (Spanaway/Frederickson/Graham). He has PDD-NOS and needs the seperate classroom setting. I'm very pleased with them. North Thurston (Lacey/Olympia), Yelm, and Franklin Pierce (Puyallup/South Hill) are also supposed to be good. We use ACES (http://acesautism.com) for ABA. They are based in Tacoma. They are excellent. Feel free to message me if I can help in any way.
Wondering if anyone here has information on Ramstein Air Base. Do they have services for children with autism (ST, OT are a definite need, PT and ABA optional really)?...
American S. replied:
It really depends. They do NOT have ABA therapy, but we have heard they have PT and OT. Medical clearance is very hard to come by for overseas though. You can join the AMFAS group and ask there-they probably have the most current info
