Here's yet another name: Lotta (pronounced low-tah) Timberlake. She's at Forum & Chapel Hill. 446-2242. I've seen here since I was 15, and both of my parents see her. My mom has Post-Polio Syndrome, and Lotta has been wonderful at understanding her unique situation and tailoring her treatments.

Becky C. replied:
A + Healthcare. Dr. Stephanie Marsden. She has made my pain so much better as well as many family members. She is 2 doors down from Truman's. She uses something called an activator instead of manual manipulation. It's much more gentle but does exactly the same thing. I absolutely love it!!!!

Any chiropractor recommendations? Got decent insurance so price shouldn't matter. Looking for friendly service and actual results.

Dr. Aaron at Keystone Chiropractic. He's the only reason I'm upright today. And he always is willing to fit it an unexpected adjustment when they pop up.
PM_YER_BOOTY replied:
I love Boehmer Chiropractic. They take a full x-ray of your back before they do any heavy-duty adjustments. And they don't do that scary neck-twisting thing - just a slight move forward on the rest that holds your head. I had some pretty serious back and neck problems - Aaron got me straightened out and I feel great every time I leave there.

I've tried several chiropractors over the years, but had the best results when I went physical therapy. I really like this place and highly recommend them: [https://www.columbiaorthogroup.com/](https://www.columbiaorthogroup.com/)

Dr Henley@Active Life chiropractic is great.

[Lordex Spine Center](http://www.lordexcolumbia.com/) Dr. Travis is a great guy. This is not crack your bones chiropractic but rehabilitative care. They have a medical Dr on staff, to verify injuries and treatment so Medicare would cover it, and took X Rays. My treatment included exercises for me to do at home and using their targeted machines, one that goes up and down your back to slowly increase your back arch flexibility, another was their torso and leg crunching machine to safely work on core strengthening. I also did the spinal decompression which I attribute to reliving pinched nerves from an old back injury that caused me to have annoying facial twitches.

Ive been using chiropractors in town for over 10 years. My favorite is the "activator" technique because I am very sensitive. Dr. Hammons is highly trained and has at least 35 yrs experience with the "activator", and I love him. Dr Hoyle has maybe 40 yrs experience, but he uses the hydraulic tables and a stronger more "crack your back" (Gonstead technique) method. He is excellent. I trust them both with my life. For care during my pregnancy I saw Dr Jen at Tiger Chiro and she was also great.

Chiropractors aren't doctors. They do not go to medical school. Medical insurance covers chiropractors (not all insurance, but most). Most people assume they are doctors. Chiropractors claim subluxations can affect mood, depression, appetite, energy levels, etc. That is not science. Being a believer in spiritual apparitions and starting a pseudo science is not the same as being a racist. Even though I'd rather someone believe on ghosts than be a racist, but you can still be good at what you do while being a racist.
