I'd check with [Pawmetto Lifeline](http://pawmettolifeline.org/). I don't know what their terms are for accepting animals or if they only get animals from the municipal shelter, but I do know they are no-kill. It's also a really nice facility as far as shelters go. I don't know of any others right offhand. You might also try posting on craigslist, though that would probably take some time and I don't know what your time frame is. Best of luck to you!

What's wrong with Pets Inc? We've had good experiences with them.

I've gone to Pets Inc many times to volunteer and they've always been nice and seem to treat all the animals well. I don't see why you've only heard bad things about them, I've only had good experiences there.

Cats are tough, espcially during summer when it's kitten season. Depending on the age, size, health, and temperament of the cat Pawmetto Lifeline may take the animal. They generally charge anywhere from $60-125 for all of the vetting that has to happen. The more vet records you have, the better off you'll be. Best of luck to you, this really is the hardest time of year to get an animal into a no-kill shelter. Source: Former Pawmetto Lifeline employee.

Pets Inc is a kill shelter. Pawmetto is good, and ask them for a list of alternatives if they can't help.

No-kill isn't really a thing in Columbia. Try re-homing first.

I volunteered at Pets Inc. They let adult cats roam freely and they have plenty of space so even if your cat doesn't get adopted right away, he or she will hopefully be fine. They do have a lot of kittens right now though. I think the biggest problem I saw there was with the dogs. They keep all the big dogs in the back and people aren't allowed back there to see them. So most of them don't end up getting adopted.

Yvonne, we have already taken 5 goats to The Barnyard Sanctuary today. To make it less traumatic for the animals, we were trying to move them directly to their forever home.
