Can you recommend a good video card? Mine is so pushed to its limits it crashes from time to time.
I need to be able to have Photoshop open and still be able to edit...

This looks like a good processor upgrade for the XPS 410. Runs cooler and uses less electricity too. http://www.ecr-intl.com/slacr.html?ref=lexity&_vs=google&_vm=productsearch&adtype=pla&gclid=CIaL2-nM_LoCFcFj7AodOBUA2A

I would just buy a decent graphics card. Half a gig or one gig should do since you aren't a gamer. Something like this would work fine. It's 1920 x1200 which is more than the resolution of your monitor. = $31.99 http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Express-Graphics-01G-P3-1302-LR/dp/B0049MPQA4/ref=pd_sim_pc_2

Also, you can upgrade your RAM to 8 gigs, needs a simple change through msconfig. You can also upgrade to a quad core processor, probably find a used one. Read this thread for some ideas, I will check to see what the fastest quadcore you can use is. Maybe we can get a pair since I have the same machine. http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3514/t/19522575.aspx

With Black Friday coming up, I'm sure Newegg.com is going to have some killer deals. The thing is, it's not just an issue with the video card (GPU). You could have a top-level card, but if your processor is on the low end, you're going to get some bottle-necking. Message me a full profile of your PC (CPU, RAM, current GPU, and the wattage of your power supply), and I can probably recommend something.

Looks like you can get GeForce 700 series, like 760/770/780 or 780 Ti... what's your budget?
Jason R. replied:
I'd still go quad core if your goal is running multiple programs. Also, the card Jack recommended is on the low-end of cards, and actually seems like a worse card than what comes stock in the Dell XPS 410 setup. Look at benchmarking for both CPU's and video cards before making a decision. Here's a good resource for that: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/ There's a tab there for video cards as well.
Who's the best auto tint shop in town? Getting a new (used) car. It's on good shape, but coming from somewhere that doesn't have the heat of the southern sun. So I need...

Mr. Tint has a lifetime warranty. I took my husband's car in about 10 years after installation and they replaced the back window that had bubbled -- no questions asked. They've done several for us over the years now. That's how you get loyal repeat business. ;)
