You can compare a handful of providers at HireAHelper. They have two hour minimums: https://www.hireahelper.com/checkoutv2/helperlist/?irs=1#date=6%2F16%2F2020&zipcode=29414&pricingclassificationid=1&zipcode2=29414&typeofhelp=3&flightsofstairs=0&sort=3 Or MovingHelp.com: https://www.movinghelp.com/movers/sc/north%20 charleston/results/f254 c58 f-b25 e-4028-9 da9-7050 d5 d8 f01 f We used the service to select a company when we loaded up the house in Maryland for a move last year. As far as that goes, HireAHelper was fine, but ultimately all it does is connect you with a company of your choosing.

B&F Movers. They are super friendly and honest. I tried to schedule a move for a Sunday and he told me to schedule it for Saturday or Monday because they charge premium rates on Sundays. My mother in law moves a lot and always uses them and they are also the movers our rental management company uses and recommends. Great experience. Put our bedframe together and everything.

I used Perfect Help Moving Company this past weekend. It was $195 for two hours. They were great and I would use them again. I found them through movinghelp.com

Big John's did a good job for me 2 years ago. This year I wanted to go with a more 'legit' company so we used Plane Movers and it was no good. Wish we'd stuck with Big John's.
JoeTony6 replied:
You can still rent the U-Haul and then U-Haul links to a third party platform of various moving companies you can reserve help through. I used Geer-N-Up Movers and they were pretty great for exactly what you're looking for - just moving the big items. I moved my personal electronics and clothes in advance.

I used Cincinnati Movers a couple times. You rent and drive the truck, they provide labor.
FreeFlipsie replied:
I used College Hunks to move my heavier stuff last year and they were awesome. Knocked out the move super fast and prices weren’t bad at all.
Arrys replied:
Some of my college buddies from UC have started a moving company called “Joey” (names after the kangaroo young that ride in the pouches). I used them for my move and love them.
Fruity_Rebbles replied:
I recommend BAMM moving & storage. They can either just help with labor if you rent a truck yourselves, or they can do everything. Very affordable, always been on time (I've used them twice now) and super helpful.

Just moved last weekend and my local loading in Cincy was done by Crothers Brothers who were very reasonably priced and worked their asses off to get us loaded within the timeframe we hired them for. We found them through [MovingHelp.com](https://MovingHelp.com).
Bramer9 replied:
Do not hire BAMM! I used them last week and nearly every piece of furniture was damaged.

I had a great experience with crothers brothers last year. Very reasonably priced and they did a really good job.

Bookstore Movers are excellent. I've used them twice and other family members have used them 2-3 times.

I had a wonderful experience with Bookstore Movers. Nice people; they worked super quickly but carefully, and made what would have been stressful really easy. They aren't the cheapest per hour, but they make up for it in working really fast.

I recommend two men in a truck moving. Great service and fast so long as you're 100% packed.

I've used Movinghelp.com to find movers for my past two moves. From Pittsburgh to Arlington, and within Arlington. You save a ton renting truck on your own and only using movers for the times you need. I needed the bigger furniture moved, but not so much the smaller boxes. Hired 2 movers for 2 hours and spent another couple finishing up, then hired 2 more movers to unload at new place. Plenty of different options/prices and reviews on site. Doing it again for upcoming move.
Columbus GA: Looking for reliable movers. Can you recommend any?
Elizabeth W. replied:
Our next door neighbor, who is an undercover cop, says the force calls them "two thugs and a truck". He said they get more complaints on them than anyone else--they hire convicted felons. We used RMC movers Monday and were very impressed--don't know if they work Columbus .
Michelle M. replied:
Motivated Movers is very reasonable also

wow- Motivated Movers DID NOT seem motivated at all.... at first at least! I called and left a message they never returned the call, so I called again. #1 the guy did not know where Columbus GA was. He kept calling it Columbus OH. BIG DIFFERENCE! LOL Then he couldn't find it on the map. I had to explain how to find it. I mean Columbus is a small town (in my opinion) but not that small! #2 He asked ME "how many boxes would it take to move you". How would I know?! #3 He tells me I'm "kinda far" (1.5 hr away) and he will ask his boss if he wants him to drive "all the way down here" just for an estimate. Isn't that what moving companies do? Drive a distance for a client? Let me add, he was very nice and professional and he did call me back say there is a MM in Auburn, AL (45 min away) that can come out and do the estimate for him. GOOD ANSWER!

I used Bellhops moving when I moved downtown. It seemed pricey (I've always just rented a van and moved myself in the past), but the two guys that came worked hard and didn't break a single thing. (And I've got some fragile old Walmart furniture).
