Looking for a new vet, have 3 larger dogs 100lbs+ 5-6yrs old. Live in MC willing to travel within reason and reasonable prices would help too.
Any help.....

All these horror stories about Anchor Bay is really making me think twice. I think it is time to switch, again! Or go back to Dr. Brooks and get my credit card out. Not that I wouldn't pay and arm and a leg for my dog's health because I would, I love my dog like I love my kids.

Anchor Bay is not a good place... I drive all the way to kitty clinic off of Grosebeck but I know Dr Robyns is awesome in st clair:)

Jeanette, try Dr Robyn shes very compassionate w/ your pet & affordable to your pocket book . Shes behind the mall in St Clair across from the church
Dakota B. replied:
Whatever you do, skip out on Dr. Hermesmeyer in St. Clair. I've never met such a rude man. Dr. Robyn, thankfully, left his office and I highly recommend her!! The sweetest and most caring vet I've ever been too!

all pet owners keep in mind: Dr Wilson office in Romeo is 24/7 full staff hospital plus the staff there are very nice {I've been to the office in Richmond 32/gratiot & they are so rude and have to send off labs which in return cost more& arent open 24/7 } Romeo location is so worth the drive especially in a emergency...Dr Small at Anchor Bay couldnt even put my cat to sleep w/1 injection took him 5 x to do it and my cat suffered thru hell because of him,,then he had the nerve to call & ask for the $40 on my balance,he was lucky he wasnt sued.We all have our favorites & all had bad experiences along the way, all I can suggest is try 1 or 2 of them and get the feel of them for yourself. Good Luck { Dr Robyn Rocks
Mike F. replied:
Do not use Anchor Bay (Dr. Small) the office and rooms are dirty and the staff I did not like! My cat was scheduled to be spayed in the AM and he never got around to doing it until that night and no call! Did not get my cat back until the next morning.
I go to Dr. Robyn at Riverview Veterinary in St. Clair. She is awesome!

Dr. Brooks
Jeanette F. replied:
Wadhams and Brooks are expensive; in my opinion they are way over priced. Dr. Smaller, 585-725-7700 is AWESOME and reasonable. He will also work with you if need be. He cares about the animals more than money.

Richmond Veterinary hospital - they are part of the great Wilson Veterinary Group. They are just about at Gratiot and Division. They have evening hours. #586-727-9018, they are on Facebook so you can look at comments.

Dr. Fitz in New Baltimore has been great to us. She cured a cough for one of my dogs that two other vets could not. The staff there are all great with my dogs.

Contact Baker College, and ask for Stephanie Johns. She is the director of the Vet Tech program. She can give you some suggestions on Vets in the area. Good luck!
Jeanette F. replied:
Thank you ladies. I will try her next year when Billy Jo is due for her yearly. God willing I won't need to try her before that. LOL
