Howeiler's on the west side is honest and much much better prices than anyone. Worth the trip. My parents, a few friends and our family have used them for big and small repairs for many years. Not a white tile pull in kind of chain shop but small family shop. Used them for second opinions and always gave them the work. Howiler's Services 460 Ternstedt Ln, Columbus, 274-6595

Prickly Pear has been around for a very long time, although used to be under a different name. You can request just about anything and they'll attempt to fulfill the order.

Just used prickly pear in April great service products fresh, as stated they will try to get you anything you would like. We GS service for ride had issue with credit card info used with Baha several years ago won't use them any more. Hope this helps.

We used Prickly Pear a couple weeks ago and they were awesome. I added a few of my own items that weren't on their list and they had no problems getting them. We used Cabo Ground Services for transportation. They are awesome and will take you to the grocery store as well on the way to the resort if you want them to. Super professional guys, free beer, always on time and hassle free. Booked in advance and they were incredible. Have used them for several years now.

I would stay at Beech Bottom and Old Sawmill. Why? I like Big Knot but it sits on the ridge and does not block the wind. Same goes for Bumblebee Ridge.
Jim C. replied:
When I thru-hiked a few years ago, I did Country Store to Big Knot (~8 m), then to Old Sawmill (~12 m), then out the last day (and straight to the CS for breakfast). Both are good sites, but I found it difficult to find firewood at Old Sawmill.
