Shelters constantly battle upper respiratory illness. It's just an unfortunate fact of shelter life. Sometimes, animals go home seemingly perfectly healthy and then develop signs of illness. Good shelters will treat that for you at no charge. Just because they weren't open on the day the kitten showed signs of illness isn't necessarily a reason to look down on them. Granted, I know next to nothing about Darbster Kitty, so I can't say for sure how they'll handle this, but they should come to a quick resolution with you.

Darbster Foundation. Closed today, no emergency contact number. We did get him help at the AVC emergency clinic for a relatively okay price but should Darbster be responsible for anything? Either the emergency visit fee or the antibiotic? We were given a clean bill of health for unhealthy kitten..
Christina Murdock also comes to the farm and is well versed in pigs (even though her heart is with cows). I have found her pricing to be great. I also use Deerfield Vet at times but Dr. Murdock as become my go-to girl!! https://www.facebook.com/LAVendervetNH?fref=ts

Doc Collins is a good old vet. I haven't been impressed with Deerfield vet with anything equine but maybe they are better with other livestock.....

I love Blackwater Vet out in Salisbury. They have off hours on call. I have used it twice. No issues with Raw, holistic or weight of my dogs (sorry one of the pet peeves from my previous vet). Deerfield Veterinary Clinic New Hampshire is great too. I use them for the farm animals.
Laura D. replied:
How far are you from Deerfield? I use Deerfield Vet Clinic, love them and they have 24 hr on call. and their emergency service is not terribly pricy!
Haeleigh C. replied:
I have heard awesome things about Deerfield Vet--they even sponsored space for my disc club's competition last year! However, it is a little farther away than my current vet…plus I always get lost when I go to Deerfield. Blackwater isn't too far away...See More

Deerfield is pretty open to Raw/limited vaccine etc as long as you are knoledgeable about it. I have never had an issue with Dr George. I always ask for him
