Hi, I'm looking for advice on root canal treatment. Have been advised that the cost is approx $3500! Does this sound right? I'm a single...
Nett M. replied:
Do you have a healthcare card? Because you can ring QLD health in Palm Beach. They will do it.:-)
Kiri F. replied:
I had root canal done and it cost me $800! I do have private health insurance. Mine was done over 3 visits. Kim Jaffar from Jaffar dental did mine and was fantastic! Phone 3805 7755. She is at Waterford West. Very worth the drive. Jaffar Dental was established over 20 years ago so plenty of experience.
Penny T. replied:
That sounds like a root canal with a crown on top. Root canal is ~ $800-1000 then $2000 ish for the crown
Jayme-Lee W. replied:
As a single parent on pension the Griffith uni service will do the root canal for free but you will need a crown which is 1500-1800 extra. Alternatively get the uni to do the root canal then get a voucher from qld Health which will cover half the crown. Pulling the tooth isn't always the best option. It depends on where the tooth is with the issue. Dr Mark Miller at Dental as anything in Helensvale is great. When I had mine he went in and removed a few strands of nerves to help settle it down. They can also do payment plan
Kim B. replied:
Check out Dental Members Australia.
Milka M. replied:
I care dental at upper Coomera... Dr Anu is amazing!
Kylie R. replied:
Try Smile Membership and use one of their participating dentists it will halve the cost.

Elaine K. replied:
Do u have a health care card? If so call 1300300850 and ask if they can help.
Jade D. replied:
$1400-$1600 and that's for a qualified, experienced dentist (as opposed to a student). Is done in 3 stages, 4 weeks between so that whole cost is also split over 8+ weeks. Primary Dental in Southport offer interest free over 10 months with just 10% deposit
Elizabeth S. replied:

I was told my son needed to have root canal or his tooth would have to be pulled out . I told the dentist i would have to think about it, i went home and rang Griffith uni dentist and got an emergency appointment for the following night, they xrayed it and said it didn't need root canal at all, they put a filling in and that was over 2 years ago, so glad I didn't let the dentist pull it . I'll never go back to that local Coomera dentist .
Rania D. replied:
Maven Dental Como crescent Southport. You can pay it off through GE Money. Give them a call 5591 3433. Have been going to them for years.....first time was root canal on a Saturday morning with no prior appointment. They were great then and I'm still happy going there although it is out of my way. Price seems about right.
Karen B. replied:
Try the Oral Health Service either in Robina or Southport, bulk billed, can only use f you've got a Concession or Health Care Card, they probably won't do root canal but may just do an extraction. I would certainly give them a call.
Terry P. replied:
