I suggest griffith university dental clinic especially if you have a health care card. Work is done by students supervised by qualified dentists. The number is 1800188295. Next door to the GCUH.

I need to get a tooth removed, its in a bad way and I'm living on pain killers. It is very close to the nerve...
Lillian W. replied:
Try Griffith Uni Dental Clinic - they are good and are free for the most part. They are, unfortunately, on holidays at the moment. If you can't find anywhere else, try calling them after mid June. 1800 188 295

Check out the Griffith University dental clinic. Your first check up is free including X-rays. This is when they assess what you need. You can be seen by a student or a fully-qualified dentist who is often doing cutting-edge research. http://www.griffith.edu.au/health/clinics

I had an extraction last week, same predicament. I called uni dental and although happy to have me as a new patient in four weeks time, they wouldn't see me for an urgent appointment as I'm not currently a patient of theirs. If I was already on their books they would have seen me same day. So I called into Luminous at Hope Island and saw Dr Michael Chang. My broken decayed molar was very close to a nerve but he took it out for me

Public system there is a waiting list from 6-12 months waiting list for general dental. If it's an emergency they take you in asap and if they can't they give you a voucher to take to a private dentist to get the tooth removed. If you're in that much pain and can't take it anymore just tell them that. I just had an extraction done, they couldn't fir me in until July so they gave me a voucher and I saw Coomera Smiles, which are amazing!
