i think you need to get Basic Photography by Michael Langford. {Focus Press} This will give you a good understanding about the fundamentals on photography. You will read all about light and image forming, apertures and speeds, Film speeds, covers all formats. B&W and colour. Get the handle on B&W first. Walk before you run. Once you have this knowledge you can then develop your personal style. good luck.

Ansel Adams has three or four books, The negative, the Camera and the print, really good books. Go on line as I did not long ago. They are good reading. I paid 14$ for the three Ebay.
