Hi everybody, can anybody recommend a good GP in the area? We are in Allesley village but happy to travel anywhere in or around Allesley. Thanks
Deb B. replied:
Dr Butler at Allesley park medical centre is brill. He has his own fan club on here lol
Carl B. replied:
Allesley Park Medical Centre. Dr Butler is superb - but Dr Jones and Dr Shields are also good.
Yvonne R. replied:
Dr Butler. Register to book appointments online and sometimes you can get an appointment with him in 10 days! Unless it's urgent we wait to see him. If it's urgent we see the nurse practitioner Jackie. She is as good as a doctor (and better than some ;-) ).
Sheryl D. replied:
Dr Bancroft at Broomfield park medical centre
Hilary C. replied:
I usually see Dr. Cowan at Allesley Park Medical Centre. Excellent practice.
Nora H. replied:
We have a fantastic team at Allesley Park Medical Centre. I credit Doctor Butler with saving my mum's life. He insisted she go straight to hospital. Within 48 hours she had the most humdinger of a heart attack and was on life support. She wouldn't have made it if she was at home. Yes I too am in the Doctor Butler fan club.:)
Adele A. replied:
It's very difficult to register at AP however... They are full to bursting. Dr Butler is my favourite but Dr Wheatley at Allesley Village surgery is also lovely and very experienced
Yolande D. replied:
Yeah i agree...Dr Butler is a fantastic doctor, although he is so popular you need to know in advance when you will be ill and get an appointment booked...can take a couple of weeks to get one with him
Michelle T. replied:
Kensington Road surgery in Earlsdon is fab. Dr Nagra & Dr Cockerill are empathetic & experienced GP's. The reception team are very good at getting little ones in ASAP.
Adele A. replied:
Agree with Michelle too... Dr Cockerill especially is lovely x
Nicola B. replied:
Yes as said before I use Dr Butler at allesley park, he very busy but has been best Dr for me.
Jo Ê. replied:

Bally Singh I am asking this on a open local forum rather than privately, as I am trying to help a man with dementia who is still paying council tax. I know this...
Nora H. replied:
Yes you are right Sheryl but in this case he is in his 80's diagnosed with dementia so can't access the qualifying benefits by himself. That is my concern, if you can't access them alone without help because you have a "serious mental impairment" then you can't get Council Tax Discount. This gentleman has never claimed benefits and wouldn't know where to start. I am doing that on his behalf but not everyone with dementia or other "serious mental health impairment" have people to help. His GP and the Caludon have assessed and diagnosed it should be enough but it's not.
Nora H. replied:
Of course Sheryl, but it still remains that the system stinks. I had to help this poor man, before his dementia was evident to get help for his son who has paranoid scitzophrenia. Whilst the people at the job centre's hands were tied they were sympathic and kind, but they were stuck with a system that demands a paranoid scitzophrenic who can't leave his flat, and only allows his Dad in to his flat go to two work based interviews a year. In the end i had to get Geoffrey Robinson involved after many letters, phone calls etc all failed. We even supplied evidence from his GP. Any reasonable person can see why there are rules, but the reality is, the mentallly ill of ages, without support don't always fit nicely into the government's benefit straightjacket.
Hi all, looking to get a medical done and hopefully somewhere a bit cheaper than the £130 my GP wants. Any suggestions in the Coventry area? Has anyone tried this lot:...
