We bought a logging truck load from Karl Blackmore, last Fall and it is very nice wood ! And it's cheap - hard to find good firewood (not rotten through and through) for that low of a price. But still, we together spend about 2 weeks of hard labour every Fall for splitting and stacking it. And my back hurts for at least another two weeks right after (and we have a tractor and a 22 ton wood splitter) ! So this year we added a pellet stove and we try a different avenue. Hopefully, a less labour and cost intensive one - a ton of pellets is $ 170 across the border. Will not miss the wood ash dust all over the house, either ! (Claudia)
