Hi. Can anyone recommend a local private secondary school that would suit a boy who is into art/design/photography etc? So many private schools seem to be v academic....
Cara G. replied:
LVS Ascot. Really can't recommend it highly enough. Check out the Art dept on their website. They have a school bus from Crowthorne too, but we commute from Camberley and it's manageable. Honestly, go and visit. It's an amazing school for both academics and non-academics.
Adam B. replied:
Would have to recommend Wellington College or Eagle House (depending on the child's age) always have very high results in all subjects. However on that note, despite not being private, Edgbarrow received higher results than Lvs and only 0.9% something behind Wellington last year. And as a student at Edgbarrow I can tell you they always get incredibly high results in the art department. Might be something worth thinking about
Paula S. replied:
I second LVS. My son done GCSE Art and Graphic Design there and then went on to do A level Graphic Design at Farnborough Sixth Form and now at University of Lincoln doing Creative Advertising. He loved it there. I found them very black and white in discipline which suited my son.
