I don't have any suggestions, other than to make sure the baker uses by the correct shade of TARDIS blue (which varies depending upon which Doctor you want it to be based off of-- 10 is much bluer than 4, but 11 & 12 are bluer than all of their predecessors). Also, maybe see if you can get one of those sound effect pieces, or greeting cards where you can record your own greeting? Get a recording of the TARDIS "braking" sound (you know: "It's not supposed to make that sound-- YOU leave the brakes on." - River Song). Put the sound piece where it makes noise every time someone does a certain thing-- uncovers the cake, cuts a piece, takes the piece off the pan, etc.) Or you could somehow use some LEDs to strobe and randomly strobe at the top if the TARDIS. Just a suggestion. You can also ask in Science Fiction groups if anyone has suggestions for Tardis cake design or tricks.

Personally I think Ambrosia Patisserie in Barrington is THE best around (flavor is top notch, decor is outstanding, etc...). If it were me I would get the cake from Ambrosia. You will not be disappointed.
