I will be gone to a music conference for two days next week. I need some suggestions for my special education and prek classes. DVD's do not work well with these groups....

Read Linda Williams' book The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything. Add an instrument to each object/character (shoes, pants, shirt, gloves, hat, pumpkin head) read the story again with instruments

Definitely read some books with the opportunity for kids to add sound effects to certain words or phrases. If you have a computer and the kids can see it on screen or with a projector, sign up for gonoodle.com They have channels with music and movement videos. They also have video mixes that are up to 30 min long.
Does anyone have experience with the special education department here? We are in the Withers' attendance zone but I've heard that not every school in DISD has a special...
