@DTownKnightLife I know of you and Trip but that's it. Just playing Devils advocate, from a fan stance. Any recommendations?

Anne -- I just checked on Kayak, and on Saturday, there are one-way flights as cheap as $171 from LAX to BWI and $275 from LAX to DCA. Here's a link: http://www.kayak.com/flights/LAX,SNA,ONT,LGB-WAS,nearby/2014-02-15
Deborah A. replied:
For Sunday, it's the same $171 price to BWI, but only $198 to DCA. Here's the link for Sunday: http://www.kayak.com/flights/LAX,SNA,ONT,LGB-WAS,nearby/2014-02-16 And, just FYI, Friday's flights were a lot more expensive -- more than double the prices for either Saturday or Sunday.

Bill Vierregger, she's in LA and yes, is no doubt having a better time there than she would here in our weather! But unfortunately she also has a job here to get back to. I'll look into that JetBlue - but not the $1,000+ flight! Thank you for the info!

I lived by that flight for a decade! I used to split my time between Fairfax and Seal Beach since my fiance lived out here. I could catch a 6:00 am non-stop this direction so the day wasn't wasted when I got here and then red-eye home, maximizing that day too! After 10 years the flying started to take its toll so I sold the Santayana house, took an early buyout from my company, and bought my last one-way ticket Back in the day when flights were only $99 each way, there were several times I flew out here just for lunch -- my best time was 23 hours 53 minutes Safe travels to your daughter...
I'd rather pocket the extra $300-700.00 for an agent an put it towards the trip. If you're looking for an overseas tour, I highly recommend the following. I booked tours to the Greek islands (Globus), and Italy (Trafalgar), plus a week in Costa Rica and Oahu through them and they were fabulous,,,,,you can't beat their prices - plus, they will let you book your own airfare if you find a better deal on air! You can do Paris and London solo - so easy to get around. I know a great hotel on the East Bank in Paris. If you're going to San Fran and Napa - message me for some great spots at fantastic rates! http://www.pavlus.com/

My folks travelled Europe quite a lot and after my Dad died, my Mom would take me. They, and we, used Untours, http://www.untours.com/. They have apartments that you rent - and if you're in a big city they provide museum passes, Metro passes, etc. and if you're in a small town in the country they provide a car rental. They have a staff in situ that will give an introductory lecture about wherever you are and are available for help in emergencies. (My sister died in Provence while they were ther and Untours aranged a place for my folks to stay while they made all the arangements to get her back. All in all, a great bunch of folks with sites in many places - my favorite - Provence. Check them out.
Recommendations for trip to Europe. Any travel agents or good place to look for deals.

If you're flexible with dates and can book quickly, check cheapdfw.com often for sales. Some sales only last half a day, so you usually have to act fast. You'll regularly find international flights for ~$500
