Dr Mendy doesn't do it anymore either ..i have the vaccine ..have a donor dog for the serum.. and I have a Dr who can do the spinal tap.. Tamara from Animalaidclinic Adoption is seeking the dose and mixture etc.. I'm planning to vaccinate my healthy donor dog tonight but I need to know how much saline is added .. also how much blood needs to be drawn .. and if I need to keep some for the spinal tap .. Two puppies under 12 weeks need serum and 1 needs spinal tap

I'm wondering if there's a support network for this kind of thing. I mean, there's multiple trans people in any given location. Surely we'd be willing to help each other. I know I'd be happy to help if you lived in my city. There's no way I'm alone in that. Edit: lived in my city or were getting the surgery in my city

Contact your local / regional LGBT center. Members of the trans support group that I lead have accompanied other folks as far as three states away so that they can get their gender-affirming surgeries.

I was looking at this same thing (but in the UK). I had to bail on surgery completely in the end, but I was looking at agencies in the city where my surgeons were based who could provide care for set periods, with a view to getting a couple of hotel rooms for a few days, hiring someone to be around for the first day or two and then having someone accompany me back to my home city. I don't have any family (to speak of) and I have emotionally close friends but not physically close friends, and I wouldn't ask any of them to come and "care" for me like that.

Any local LGBT centres? Maybe someone there could point you in the right direction or even help you. Or maybe, and this is a kind of stretch honestly, you can look into hiring a caretaker like off care.com or something?

I would also be willing to help someone who lived within less than like an eight-hour drive.

Don't have an answer but I'm struggling with the same thing :/ Even just ideas, what the hell does one do post-op without support? Surely it can't be that every single person going through surgery has family and friends willing to help out.

You won't absolutely need someone *at* the surgery with you, but you will need someone at home or at the place you'll be staying in the first few weeks. I hope you can find someone to at least drop by every day while you're recovering. If you give a location we'll be able to help more. If you're open to going to Montreal, Canada, the GRS Montreal hospital has an attached recovery house that is built into the price of the surgery. (I went there; AMA.)

My surgeon's office says they have a list of people willing to drive you to and from the office on surgery day. You may just want to check with the office of any surgeon's you consider to see what they know. I am sure it comes up quite a bit.

I must say it's not the poor receiving the money. It's the GIANT health care cooperation's that wrote the law that are benefiting. The rich get richer. My less fortunate friends have very good health care. Community Health, Memorial. They were not affected. Oh my!!

A primary care doctor has to be associated with your plan...It it his or her job to authorize a referral..,This is important...If the dermatoligist that you choose is not a member of your plan The insurance Company WILL NOT PAY....Make sure before you go..
