Having a long term disability, I've used physics, chiros, etc ongoing for decades & have to say I've wasted a lot of money with some physios.....there are good physios and dud physios, good chiros & dud chiros ..... I go with word of mouth rather than their particular specialty & always look for someone who has worked with lots of sports injuries, cos they will be more experienced. That said I'd go with osteopath Jim Pattinson before the physios in town - you get more value/relief for the time & $$. If you don't get relief, find another practitioner.

I'm sorry to hear that Jackie, I will send your beloved pooch loads of healing energy and positive wishes. You've mentioned sciatica so perhaps the problem has nothing to do with arthritis - but if it does I'm not sure if you've only used oral supplementation, or has your vet suggested Adequan, Cartrophen or Pentosan, which are usually monthly injections? Many arthritic dogs have had great success with these compared to the usual oral supplements as these injections bypass the need for digestion and often inefficient absorption of an oral supplement. There are contraindications but your vet should be aware of these. Unfortunately I can't offer you someone to see (my only dealing with Smart Bowen Therapy in Lancefield - which I see was just recommended above - resulted in a complaint to the regulatory body due to unprofessional behaviour and homeopathic goods paid for that were never sent despite multiple requests... I never tried another practitioner due to that terrible experience).
Does anyone know of any Canine physio therapists? Happy to drive a bit if need be.
