Hey mommys, who is a good pediatric dentist I can take Brentley to that accepts medicaid? Also, does anyone know about the early headstart on sandlin rd?
Lori B. replied:
Don't know about dentists...but for Head Start, call Community Action Partnership (in Decatur) 355-7843, they can give you all the info. They are a great program! Both of my kids went to Head Start
Yesterday I saw Clark Family dentistry on Central pkwy recommended. I've got to get my kids a dentist that will take their insurance and do not want to take them to Somerville road dentist. I'd like to go back with them too, I don't want someone grinding all the enamel off their teeth. Their bio-family history has poor enamel as it is.
Mary R. replied:
Dr. Hardin is good. I think you will like him
Stephanie H. replied:
I used to take Callie to her appointments at Dr. Hardin's on Danville Road close to the mall. She seemed to like him. I never went back, but I don't know if they let you or not. I just didn't want to go back there.
Kelsey B. replied:
They dont accept my insurance Beth, and i'm going to call Dr. Hardin next, Steph. For some reason Kamden has decided he wants a girl "teeth doctor" go figure.
Anyone recommend a great children's dentist in Decatur?
Faith F. replied:
My kids go to Dr. Stanley. Don't take them to Dr. Hardin. I took Gracie to him when she was about 2 and he kissed her on her forehead and I felt creeped out by him.
Dione H. replied:
Alabama Pediatric Dental, across from Wilson Morgan Park in Decatur!! We have NEVER had a bad experience!
Carmen R. replied:
Dr Joel Hardin very nice!
Ariel A. replied:

Gina A. replied:
We use James Joy in Hartselle. Had an appointment with Alabama pediatric dental group but didn't like the fact I wasn't allowed to be with Steven while he was with them. Granted Austin is 21 and was just a kid but someone on their staff pulled the wrong tooth and it was a permanent tooth. So now he has no tooth there.
Can anyone recommend a good pediatric dentist in the Decatur area? I really don't want to have to go too far out, but if its worth it, I'm willing to drive a little...
Lela M. replied:
Alabama Pediatric Dental Associates is who we use
Jennifer E. replied:
We use Sarrell Dental but they are in Athens.
Sam S. replied:
Dr Welden at comprehensive dentistry she is amazing and our cousin Kesha dutton works there too she is good with them
Heather G. replied:
We used APDA for awhile and always got the 'assembly line' feel there. Lakyn screamed on her first visit there because they made her lie down while they let every other kid back there sit up for exam. We switched to Whitney Shelton in HSV and he is great. My kids will happily go back without me and they have a play area for the kids while the Dr talks to you about any issues. We found out Sydney has bad enamel and that's why she has cavity issues (APDA had never told us that and she had been there 2 x a year since age 2). Dr. Shelton did Sydney's fillings and did great. They even let me watch when they had it so she couldn't see me. It's a longer drive but definitely worth it in my opinion.
