Walmart.com or Wallgreens You merely spray the Vetericyn on the foot, then wrap it in gauze and secure with vet wrap, repeating three times a day until the infection is gone. It is well worth the money since a little bit goes a long way.

My dogs go to Countryside Animal Clinic. They are all so sweet and when I had an emergency they gave me options. I was scared so I ended up bringing her in. They have never pressured me into buying anything and are very honest about this or that. I've always loved them and how happy they are when we come in. My vote goes to them

Melissa L. replied:
Definitely Volusia Woods Animal Clinic. Dr. Harty is the best. She spent over an hour with us on our first visit. She's personally called me to see how my girl is doing and the staff always calls to check on her. Prices are great too. I was with Cohen for years. His prices just got too high for us.

I love Dr. Bailey at Woodland Animal Clinic...he is great with my boxers, heard he specializes in brachiocephalics from another lady and went to him. My dogs love him and he understands the breed well. I switched to him from another group that will remain unmentioned and this is why I switched.... She had a severe UTI which I caught a sample in the parking lot the day of her appt and told them to test it. Before they tested it, they gave her a vaccine, distemper which had the lepto mixed with it, which I did not know. Then, they tested it and oops, she had a bad urinary tract infection. We don't give our sick kids shots....geez! Four days later, she couldn't even get up and walk...red cell count down to 10 We ended up in Orlando for blood transfusions and to see a specialist...she was diagnosed with IMHA. Can't say for sure what caused it, could have been vaccine, could have been the strong antibiotic she was on for the UTI but either way I blame them...I firmly believe they triggered this...they gave a sick dog a vaccine, a vaccine that is noted to cause problems anyway, then factor in a very bad UTI and then give a strong antibiotic that also is noted to cause problems, namely IMHA. They still treated her for the first 2 weeks at a very high cost which I think they should have done free since they caused it but hey, she needed treatment. Finally when she was not getting any better and it was costing a high dollar, I found a specialist and there we went. She had to have 3 blood transfusions. Consequently I changed regular vets and chose Dr. Bailey....never looked back. We still have to go to a specialist as she is still being treated for this disease, IMHA and on drugs that require certain blood work done periodically to be sure all is well. Know your vets just like you know your own doctors, do your homework and check them out. Best Wishes.

We've been going to Cohen Veterinary for years. Florida Wild is pretty awesome for our birds and when we had a bunny plus we've got a friend that works there. She's great. Newman's is also good. We love Dr. Cohen though, he's made house calls, seen all of our furry critters except the bunny, and always is happy to be with critters.
That'd ridiculous. I have my dogs vaccinated at Volusia Vet because they do three year vaccinations. It's not terribly priced either.

Call some recommended vets from this thread or visit to interview them:)

Pam W. replied:
If you don't mind the drive, Winter Park Veterinary Hospital treats exotics. Dr Hess treated all our ferrets and he performed successful laser surgery on the ferret with adrenal disease (he removed the affected gland). He actually knows about ferret diseases and can identify and treat them. I had to learn all that on my own from other ferret owners, and try to educate local vets until I found Dr Hess (this was pre-FL Wild and pre-DeLand Animal hospital, so I cannot speak to their competencies with ferrets or other exotics). Did you know that you should stay at the vet office for 30-45 minutes after getting vaccines in case your ferret has a reaction? That way you are within reach of immediate medical help. Otherwise your ferret may die from the reaction to the vaccine if you have to drive back to the vet. Did you know that the distemper and rabies vaccines should be given separately and at different times, preferably a few months apart, so you will know which vaccine it was if there is a reaction? Dr Hess knew this and told me to wait without me having to say anything about it. His whole staff was great. I highly recommend Dr Hess for ferrets.
