Where is the best place to buy affordable bread in Umalas / Canggu? I miss being able to pop down to the local bakery in Australia and buy a loaf of fresh bread for $1....

The best is Paris Baguette !! juste beside popular before canggu club. the bread is crunchy and taste really good. Most of the bakery use AC so the bread is really soft.. also the Bread of warung guthe is very good (pantai berawa between local market and dim sum restorant) https://www. https://www.facebook.com/855144587840689facebook.com/522456974582795 Warung GautheParis Baguette Bakery Bali

Ronald no but we are very big on our bakeries. Not so much the sweet bread like in asia but pies of various types. Scones, sausage rolls, normal non sweet rolls we eat with cold meat and salad. Pizza type breads and what they call pull a parts which is a flat loaf sized bread with fillings like onion and cheese and ham and chilly or pineapple. Many different flavors. Growing up on a Sunday morning I was always woken by the smell of fresh hot bread. There is no smell better. We always had rolls so I would have a roll with vegemite and if we were like we got a sweet like vanilla slice or n apple cake. You should Google Australian hot bread shops. Its a very big thing in Australia . I'm pretty sure you get no bintang flavored rolls or pies lol. Many of us enjoy a beer in the hot weather but where I'm from in Melbourne is very cafe cultured. Outdoor cafes where you meet friends for Sunday brunch or lunch and have a coffee and sandwich or sometimes a fry up but nothing beats a bakery style pie on a Saturday afternoon while watching some football at the local football ovel.
