Can someone suggest the best ways to help the evacuees fleeing with their families from Agung. Do you recommend driving supplies to their camps directly? Or can you...

Rio Helmi has a post about how streams of cars are clogging the roads: much better to give money to a decent-sized organisation than to small groups who can't even fill a car with goods. It's more efficient that way: charities get more for their money, and goods get distributed where they're needed. You don't need to go personally to the camps: it doesn't help people.

Have a look at www.sunriseschoolbali.com a wonderful international school in kerobokan!
Racheal L. replied:
Also consider what curriculum you want your kids to do. Will you be heading back to NZ in?? Years so want them in a similar curriculum? You may be on a waitlist for the school you like so what will you do in the mean time? The Australian school is in Kerobokan but will be moving to the border of Kuta/Denpasar early next year. Canggu School is British Curriculum. There is also Green School, Sunrise School, French School plus quite a few others. I made the big mistake of thinking that 9 km wasnt far from school, but it would take me anywhere from 30 mins on a quiet day to 2 hours on a busy day just to get to school.

Wendy, have a look at mekar bhuana (they have a Facebook page) they teach music and dance. They also Conduct cultural immersion tours from other countries so they have all the contacts for other skills like carving, cooking and so on. Putu Evie Hatch is a much loved classical Balinese dancer who gets rave reviews from all her students - your daughter can get dressed in traditional costume and perform at the end of her lesson if she wants! Highly recommended!
