Honestly its all subject.. Just use https://www.cargurus.com it will find you the best price for the car you're looking for in all denver car lots it will tell you if its a good deal or not by comparing all prices across the board for you.

Depending on what car you want, I had the best experience at Empire Nissan. They used to have a bad rep, but new ownership has created a wonderful buying experience. I've owned over 30 vehicles and bought 7 brand new from the dealer, as well as several used from dealers and other sources, but this last experience at Empire was hands down the best.
Car dealership suggestions in/around Denver? I've never dealt with one before so I'm looking for some places you would do business with again. Any help would be...

Just not o'mera ford on 104 th & i-25. They will over charge and scam you with the "we changed banks and need you to come resign some paperwork" bit. Then they send you birthday cards for years as some sort of sick taunting... Yeah, would not recommend.

I'm not going to reccomend a dealer but I think I can offer you some very valuable advice which has gotten me 3 new cars at severe discounts. You are in control of this process.
1- do not talk about your budget, instead talk about the price of the car
2-don't talk financing, tell them you have your own (you can still use their financing)
3- don't talk about your trade in, only discuss the trade if you are happy with the price of the car. Once they agree to a purchase price, then demand what you want for the trade in.
After you find the car you like, go on cars.com and search for the same make, model and year within 100 miles. Then tell them that's the price you will pay, no more.
If you follow the above instructions you will save thousands of dollars. The dealer will try to get you focused on things that will appease you while they keep the price high. If you keep the formula in my order you are going to save a lot.

Buying used from an individual seller is so much easier. Much less hassle and I think the average Joe from Craigslist is more likely to be honest and negotiate fairly than a dealership. But, that obviously only works for used cars...

As a young 20-something buying my own car for the first time on my own was crazy. I went to Valley Subaru in Longmont. I was treated very well and no one tried to take advantage of my lack of knowledge (I was also paying straight up with no financing). Took a day of back and forths, but in the end I got a good deal. When they sold the car I was gunning for (I took all day), they drove one over from another place and threw in a bunch of accessories. I also got 5 free service visits, so I haven't paid to have my oil changed at all (they also cleaned my car too).

Avoid Frontline Subaru. They have no problem lying to make a sale and you won't be able to get in contact with anyone if you have problems as soon as the sale is over. I tried everyday for a week to speak to a manager.

I've been to a lot of dealerships in south denver in my last 2 car searches. Only 2 were pushy and I'd avoid them: Cherry Creek Dodge@Havana/Yale, Alpine Buick GMC@Wadsworth/Belleview. I did end up getting a Kia at Peak Kia for one buy and it was a nice buying experience (although they push monthly payment amounts without specifying payment durations & total cost, so you have to ask the right questions), but I didn't end up liking their service shop much. My second purchase came from Mercedes of Denver and nothing bad to say about them.

Stay away from Rocky's Auto. They use every high pressure tactic in the book. They also like to play [four square](https://consumerist.com/2007/03/30/dealerships-rip-you-off-with-the-four-square-heres-how-to-beat-it/). Walk away from anyone wanting to play that game.

I recently worked with Jeff J. at H.M. Brown & Associates. The company is an auto broker, rather than a dealer, so I asked to see a couple cars (A Jeep and a 4Runner) and he had a dealership bring them over. No high pressure salesman, he knew all the incentives and the benefits of buying vs. leasing from Chrysler or Toyota, and was able to take down an inspection of the car I am trading in to shop it around at a few used car places to get me the biggest trade value. Super nice (he reddits too! I indirectly found him thanks to reddit) and very patient.

I went to Emich VW on Colorado. I worked with Rhiannon and purchased a used Honda CRV, not a new VW and she was awesome! Their finance team made everything go smoothly and I got an interest rate that was half of what some of the other large dealerships in the area were offering. I was shopping as a young, single woman with really no car knowledge other than I was looking for a crossover SUV. I really trust the condition of the car when I received it, they had replaced the breaks and detailed it nicely-- reliable and trustworthy dealership in my opinion, I have had the car for 18 months with no issues. My boyfriend didn't purchase there but owns a VW GTI and only gets his car serviced at this same dealership as they are so reliable and reasonable.

After test-driving and deciding you like the car, when they sit down with you, offer them 10-15% less than the sticker price (don't say "10%," calculate the actual number, round down). They may act insulted, and tell you it's ridiculous, say they will lose money, etc. That's when you say "I apologize for wasting your time," start packing your things, and WALK OUT. This is the key - be prepared to walk out.
Then, one-of-two things will happen. Either the manager will come running, begging, for you to come back to the table...or if they actually let you walk out, they will call you the next day accepting your offer (or they may counter a bit higher, and you can choose to accept). Remember they just need to sell the car, and at sticker price, they are making > 10% profit.
If neither of the above happens, find another dealer with the car you want, rinse, and repeat.

I've purchased both through a dealership and through a broker. I would pay MORE to go through a broker, pending he is a good one. The one I used retired from the game, but I gave him a few cars I was looking at. He called me up and had me come down the street to test drive them. He and a colleague got the cars from the dealership, and brought them to one central spot for me to test drive. Once I selected one, he did all of the negotiating and actually brought us a great price compared to the research I had done. No haggling or bullshit pitches by the dealership rats. He picked up the new car, brought it to his place and hand washed and details every inch of it.
Compare this to the 3-4 hour haggling and bullshittery that is a purchase from a dealership, and it's a no brainer. If you must do your own bidding, I've absolutely hated Groove. I will never purchase from them again.
Does anyone in Denver know of any reliable and trustworthy new or used car dealers out there? Yoga mats are my area of expertise, not cars. All I know about cars is that...
