The first business that came up in a google search for "Denver Mac Repair" was http://www.denvermacrepair.com/, whom I have dealt with previously and found to be a bunch of decent folks. If you are lucky, it's just a loose cable. I hope you are lucky!

The grey screen with folder icon is indicative of hard drive failure (either logical or physical). Since it happened after you dropped it, I'd say with about 95% certainty that we're dealing with a physical failure (head crash most likely).
No repair shop will be able to help unless they specialize in physical data recovery (there are a few in town, but definitely not a normal repair shop or IT consultant). I've used [Eboxlab](http://www.eboxlab.com/) before with great success, although it was very expensive (physical hard drive recovery is ALWAYS super-expensive). Think in the $500-$1500 range to get your data back.
If you don't care about getting your data back, you can throw another drive in it for $50-$150 and install Mavericks on it. Hell, now would be a good time to upgrade to an SSD. They're 5-10x faster than a spinning HDD, and not susceptible to the falls that broke your current drive. They are about $150 for a 250GB drive.
PM me if you'd like help or any advice. I've been troubleshooting computers my whole life, a Mac user for the last 9 years, and an IT consultant for the last 5 years.

Once you get it up and running again have a look at crashplan for backing up your files, it's quite cheap to use their online storage or free if you use your own

I can take the HDD out and back up all your data for you onto another hard drive. Maybe even take a look at what needs to be replaced on the laptop. PM me if you're interested. Thanks!

Hey, I suggest Tech Hub on Blake street. Run by some great people.
I have heard good things about this spot for Macs downtown. http://www.denvermacrepair.com/ I poured a glass of wine on my macbook air and thought about taking it there. Decided that I am going to hold off and just buy a new one eventually. Worth looking into this spot though I hear.
