Hello, and welcome to the neighborhood! Not sure of any Gyms other than the YMCA on Sheridan on the south side of 285 also there is a Cross training gym just opened on Santa Fe south of Evans on the west side. Welcome to the neighborhood Sara! Anytime Fitness is great if you're looking for somewhere to work out on your own. If you like group classes, I teach a small group class at a private studio just 6 miles from here...Colorado Blvd & Yale. You can private message me if you'd like more info and you are welcome to come check out the classes for free for a week.
Any Gym recommendations? Needs to have 24/7 access.

I go to the 24 hr in Alameda in Lakewood near my office but it is always so crowded. I checked into the Harvey Park rec center, and they do have a small gym, but it isn't open on Sundays. But, with the resident pass you do get use of the pool (no lap swimming, though). I also used to go to Better Bodies on Jewell, which was really inexpensive, but smells terrible! Please keep posting your suggestions! I'm looking for a change!

For a family gym I just joined Club USA. For $59 a month we get the gym for 5 people, daycare for the young one. We go swimming after, a spa for adults and one for kids (not as hot). It is not a 24 hour gym, but open 4 am-midnight. http://clubusa.net/

I called about five numbers, finally left a message with "Camp-Ins", 303.370.8287, Kristen.Jensen@dmns.org. The building is actually never locked, and has all-night security staff, which is why I thought of it. Do you have an email describing what they need that I can forward, or should I write my own?

Karl Chwe, upwards of 200 folks or so in need of housing until mid-November (but they can be distributed to several places). Do you have a hook up with DMNS?
Anyone recommend a gym besides Bally's in the Lakewood-Denver area?

Better bodies has more weight options and equipment. I think you would like it better there. Club USA is a little more pricey but it is big, has a pool, jacuzzi's, sauna and steam. I have been to planet fitness too... It really depends what you are looking to do.

Go on powerliftingwatch.com and do a gym search in denver most are posted there. Or better yet move 8 hours east and you can train at my gym :) let me know if that helps hard to type on phone with one arm in cast

Dave Kirchen wrote a good book called 'Powerlifting: Year 1' about beginning powerlifting. '5/3/1 for Powerlifting' by Jim Wendler is also a good book with advice and solid programming for getting going. Get around some good people with meet experience if you can, and when you do go to a meet ppl are awesome and very helpful if you are respectful.
