What's the issue you're having? Some issues are easily dealt with by both a trainer or a behaviourist, but more serious issues may be best off dealt with by a behaviourist only. Check out www.apdt.co.uk and www.apbc.org.uk though - you can narrow by area, and both have codes of conduct to ensure members use modern, fair methods.

Try having a look at the APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers) website (Apdt.co.uk) or the IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers) website imdt.uk.com .All their trainers use positive reinforcement training methods.

I take my 2 to Loose Leads obedience training, Lyn and Allan have been brilliant helping me to handle Bertie and give lots of extra advice. its a good opportunity for socialisation with responsible owners. They also do one to one training. http://www.looseleads.co.uk/
