I worked with Chuck at Wiemann Home Inspection and was pleased. There was one small thing her missed (a non-GFCI outlet in the kitchen), but he did a thorough job on the stuff I don't understand (HVAC, foundation, etc) and liked that we were tagging along for the full inspection.

I quit counting when I did 1,000 home inspections. Licensed architect and electrician. Winner Iowa Energy Policy Council energy efficient house award. Certified in radon testing. I quit when all you had to do was buy your ASHI certification. I highly recommend Dave Reynolds with IA State Home Inspections. 2 man team and great about explaining any defects they may have found. Reasonably priced for the services; photos and electronic report for your records. They also do Radon Testing. I am a Realtor and can assure you that kickbacks are totally unethical and incredibly illegal. Find someone who is licensed and insured. Iowa does not require those things so know who you are dealing with!
