Party people! I'm interesting in trying out some Acupuncture therapy, but I'd love to hear some recommendations from my pals about places they've gone and liked. Does...

When I worked for Dr. Kim, she took insurance, but a lot don't pay for acupuncture (or didn't when I used to do the billing).

Well Krista, I obviously hope everything works out on your end. I'm not much for prayer anymore, but I'll definitely throw some good vibes up towards the Universe. Jacque Alessi, were you saying you have a few friends that go to Dr. Hyo Kim? I'll let you know if I find any that take insurance, but I'm inclined to think they won't; it'll likely be more of a cost-per-session, or packages. Cost is typically not an issue with me as long as I see results.
Shannon R. replied:
I couldn't tell you what Dr. Kim charges now. She was pretty reasonable when I worked for her. At the time, she also worked as an anesthesiologist, so she only did her acupuncture business in the afternoons/evenings. I'm not sure if that's still the case.

My friend sees Diana Gonzalez tiger chi in Ann Arbor.
Shannon R. replied:
I used to work for a doctor who did acupuncture. (She's an actual medical doctor as well.) She is excellent. I never heard anything but great things from her patients. And she's a very nice person too. Her name is Dr. Hyo Kim. Her office is on Mound Road in Sterling Heights. If you look her up on google, I'm sure you'd be able to find her office number.

Whoa Marc, 3 minutes after you posted Julie's name my phone rang and it was her the other line! (It wasn't totally out of the blue - it was in response to a voicemail I had left a couple of hours ago at the F'Hills Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine front desk... however, I didn't call her specifically, and it looks like they have several practitioners).
Anyone know of any good acupuncture places around?

I found Gainesville, but seems like they're not listed on the website...not members yet? http://www.gainesvillecommunityacupuncture.com/
MacKenzie M. replied:
Nora, I'm in DeLand, Florida (just west of Daytona Beach). The closest POCA clinic to me is in St. Pete, which is 120 miles away. I'll be opening one here in DeLand around August. In the meantime, there are acupuncture schools in Gainesville and Orlando, so their clinics will have lower rates. Unfortunately, that's about it.
