Can’t Miss Places to Eat Currently in the Dover area (staying in Felton), looking for housing for when my family and I move here in March. We will be here till...

Yukon Korean Barbecue is my favorite in Dover.

For authentic Mexican El Nopal on Route 8 (Forrest St/Forrest Ave) can't be beat. It's a tiny little house in a rough'ish neighborhood, but the food is delicious.

[Grey Fox Grille](http://www.greyfoxgrille.com/) in Dover off of Loockerman is pretty good. Also [Georgia House](http://www.eatgh.com/) in Milford is a personal favorite. If you want the general chinese buffet experience I would definitely recommend the Old Town Buffet in the Rodney Village Shopping Center.

If you like sushi, there’s Rice in the Greentree Shopping center in Dover

During the summer check out Sambo’s in Lipsic for some steamed crabs. I’ll second Restaurant 55 and 33 west as well. Not mentioned yet: Dewey Beer Co and Mexicali in Dewey. Agave in Lewes. Black wall Hitch in Rehoboth.

There is a Jamaican place on Loockerman that is awesome. Tiny place where you can only get take out and they are always super slow, but their jerk chicken is the best.

Dover is blah. Go down south to Rehoboth man. There is some really nice places there. Blue hen, salt air, fork and flask, and the dogfish head restaurant are all good pics but also much more.
The only places MAYBE I’d recommend us Hibatchi or Yukon, or perhaps cool springs / restaurant 55
I seriously recommend driving that extra 20-30 mins down to Rehoboth for a good meal man.
Edit: I will say that when I wrote this I was thinking more of a NICER place to eat. There are some casual okay places in Dover (grey fox, governors, rice, etc.). Those are good places but for a real WOW factor see above. Unfortunately I have had some terrible service at grey fox so that place is a last resort for me.

Hey! So Felton is pretty close to Frederica - Frederica Pizza House is awesome
As others have recommended Restaurant 55 is one of the best local burger places, and they also have great specials too (fried green tomato and pimento cheese sandwich!)
The Green Stinger is more on the side of "bar food", but they have good stuffed burgers
We like Chaiyo a lot, I personally think it's better quality than Rice, but Yukon has great food too
Flavor of India in Dover has consistently good food
We don't go often, but Piazza Mia is good
If you're willing to drive a little bit Milford has great places to eat - My Sister's Fault is amazing
Po'Boys in Milton is out of this world awesome and they do brunch as well! There is a meadery that opened somewhat recently in Milton and they have awesome mead
Brickworks in Smyrna is awesome! They have great food and beer and they have dog events as well
And if you need a vet we love Governor's Animal Hospital
We like the food and beer at Crooked Hammock, but recently started going to Big Oyster and their food is incredible
I actually have to disagree with other posters about Where Pigs fly, we thought the food was way over-salted

I hear King Buffet and La Tonalteca are pretty good.

The best spot in the area for my dollar is Restaurant 55. It's a burger place, fantastic food, and an excellent draft list. They try very hard to represent most of the local breweries (Dogfish, Dewey Beer, Big Oyster, Fordham/Dominion, Burley Oak, Mispillion River) on tap. Next door is Cool Springs, a seafood restaurant owned by the same family. I have also heard good things about it, but have no firsthand experience.

Restaurant 55 for an amazing burger

The Chicken house is the best meal for the money. Their chicken is amazing. There is on in Middletown and on Kirkwood highway.

33 West is a great place for a burger or a salad and a beer

Nicola's is the best local pizza around. If someone tells you to go to grottos, promptly slap them.

If you're looking for Italian you can't go wrong with Vincenzo's Pizzeria and Gelato. He's got Italian dishes, pizza, gelato, steak subs, burgers, salads, etc.

Gov Cafe is phenomenal. I used to eat there at least once a week when I lived in Dover. Countrie Eatery has great breakfast, and someone else recommended Flavor of India. I second that. I'm not kidding when I saw the Dover Taco Bell is pretty solid. I've been to A LOT of different Taco Bells and Dover DE and Wallingford CT are tops. The Taco Bell KFC by Wal-Mart is atrocious.
