If that's the case then you should go ahead with Turkish. Airlines because both Emirates and Qatar Airways fares, for 3 adults ans 1 child, in August are above the $3500 mark. Apart from the Turkish Airlines plane, operated between the KHI-IST route, being a little cramped (3-3 configuration), it's a good airline and you won't need to take the hassle of transiting. I had to extend my Emirates ticket twice last year (on a day before my flight) while I was in Dubai and AEG Travel Services easily did that for me even though I had checked-in online. Cost was around 4500 rs for that but I guess it depends on the flight sector.

I recently flew to Istanbul with Emirates and had a 4 hour transit at Dubai (EK605 & EK123) between the KHI-IST sector and a 7 hour transit at Dubai (EK122 and EK600) while coming back. I believe Qatar Airways offers the cheapest fares to fly from KHI to IST and the transit times at Doha are much less too (around 2-3 hours). As far as the free transit visa is concerned, I haven't heard of that from Etihad but Emirates has a Dubai Stopover offer which gives you a 36-hour complimentary visa, subject to UAE customs and immigration approval, but not quite sure if they'd give one to Pakistani passport holders. Moreover, booking the tickets online through the airline's website would be more cheaper for you since the travel agents usually add their service charges but still if you need the assistance of a travel agent then I can recommend you AEG Travel Services (+92 21 3263 0260-80). I usually get my tickets through them and their service charges are 1500-2000 rs with pay-on-delivery system. Since carrying cash in k-town isn't a wise idea, I find it more easier to pay by cheque once I receive the ticket at home.
