The article is specific to BCBS not all. Vivian Maloney educator In Insurance billing has great information. Also involved in the fight going on in fla to still allow Lmt to bill for PIP & slip and fall

That worker with your private practice should be an employee or a flat rate renter. What most people think an IC is, is really a misclassified worker. Interesting that Whitney changed his practice model. I called him and his wife out about the violations and she fired me over it. Carol, it runs rampant, unfortunately, but the government is cracking down on it. A chiro office I used to work for is now under federal investigation for insurance fraud. What state? Washington state is a leader in this. I can bill premera blue cross of Washington and get with the copay a total of $59.00 That is 4 increments of 15 minutes each. Some companies pay a bit more, after the deductible is met. Supposedly what I have heard under Obama care all massage therapy is covered. With tx from a Doctor. Need NPI# But how it will work in other states I don't know. It is and will always be different in each state. Along with our continuing ed requirements and license requirements.

By 2016, under the new healthcare bill, massage will be covered by all insurance companies. If unsure- contact Blue Cross and get the info from them rather than a third party- such as this FB group.

Vivian Madison Mahoney may be a great resource for massage and insurance billing questions- http://www.massageinsurancebilling.com/about.html

Previously in NY a LMT had to be a "BCBS provider". In my area the network has been closed for 10 yrs. does this new law allow me to accept BCBS without applying to their network? I have a NPI and am a discount network provider for Independent Health/Flexfit (network for providers closed with IH also).

No cure as we all know. All the Neuro's I've seen have never "cured" me either. Lol But care from a Chiropractor was the best thing I ever did for my migraines. Significantly reduced my frequency. BUT I only received awesome results from 1 of 3 doctors...so if you don't get relief from a Chiro please try another.
