Anyone know a trustworthy mechanic? Would love to find someone who I can trust for car repairs and keep a good relationship with him for a while.

Is it a Japanese car? If so, on 55, behind the Snoopy's hotdogs, is Wasp Automotive. Good place.
purbateera replied:
Agree with WASP Auto - if you have a Japanese car (they only service those).

I take my 2015 Jeep Wrangler here: Cary Car Care 234 E Johnson St, Cary, NC 27513 (919) 380-0040https://goo.gl/maps/PT1ZJNKPWHw I have never had issue and they are very thorough, they always check with me before doing anything beyond the basic service.

Absolute Tire on Roxboro Rd (across from the Bojangles). Looks like a tiny, hole-in-the-wall shop from the front but it is a veteran owned, full service garage with service bays around back. He's always given me better prices on tires than I can even find online and I've seen him explain in detail what could be causing the problem and how he planned on verifying which piece is actually the problem before recommending a fix to more than one customer. Very stand up guy.

We use B&B Garage off of Guess Rd in Durham. My whole family goes there and my father uses them for any car repair work for his business. Been going there for many many years!

Love Becker Auto on Hillsborough Rd.

I love Claytons Auto Care on N. Duke St.. Besides being honest and doing good work, they are creative in their fixes, make great referrals, and are super nice.

I've developed a relationship with Mike at F&F in Carrboro. I brought my car there a couple of years ago and he saved me a bundle over the estimate I'd received elsewhere. I bring all my cars to F&F now.

C and C Automotive in North Durham is great. Very honest and doesn't recommend work that isn't necessary. The first time I went in I ended up having a hour long conversation with the owner because he just wanted to explain in detail the problem I was having and why it wasn't really an issue. It ended up with him explaining exactly how the check engine testing worked on my car with a printout of what type of driving is needed to fully run though the tests that lead to the check engine light being cleared or coming on. They are at 129 Wolfpack Dr, Durham, NC 27704. If I didn't just buy an electric car this would have become my go to mechanic. edit: C and C was recommended by my neighbor who is a Honda mechanic so didn't work on my Ford so C and C is also respected by peers.

[Konrad Automotive](https://www.konradautomotive.com) has always trustworthy and fair in their pricing. I’ve been going to them for about 6-7 years now.

North Star V8 is a Cadillac Motor (General Motors / Chevy, NOT Ford / Lincoln). Please take the car to a competent mechanic and don't take advice solely from people on Facebook. Ray N. Williams Sr. At Williams Automotive in Thomasville on West Jackson ST is who I take my stuff to when I can't or don't feel like doing it myself.
What are some good area car repair places- reputable, won't try to charge you for more because you are a woman or have kids, and have decent waiting rooms/kid friendly? ...
Ann K. replied:
If you have a Japanese car, Wasp Automotive in RTP is awesome (http://www.waspauto.com/index.html). The owner, Pete, is the head mechanic, and his other mechanics have been there forever. They are all very honest and very smart. They have a drop-off lot on S. Columbia. You make an appt, and they come pick it up and bring it back. You can walk or take the bus home and avoid waiting rooms all together.
Kara H. replied:
We like Auto Logic in Carrboro, but can't say their waiting room is anything special! I have always found them to be honest/reasonable.
Kristine C. replied:
We like Precision Tune on the corner of 54 and 55 in Durham, but their waiting room sucks.
Denise D. replied:
I second Kara's praise of Auto Logic in Carrboro. They are honest, reasonably priced, and take great care of our car.
