I work in the Raritan Plaza in Edison and there aren't any 100% bbq places directly in Edison that I can think of. There are a few Portuguese BBQ places that do various types of bbq, but I couldn't recommend any of them in good conscience for catering something at a work function because their food quality just isn't consistent enough.
That being said, I can give you two places that we use for catering various work functions of anywhere from 25-100 people; Fresco's & Main Street Trattoria in Metuchen (both are 10 min from just about anywhere in Edison). I haven't had Main Streets dinner, but their breakfast & lunch catering has been great and I can't imagine that the same quality wouldn't extend to dinner as well. Fresco is good all around and it's a really nice Italian Deli where everything is prepared fresh. If you can't find a straightup BBQ place, I would highly recommend Fresco's for some Italian dishes.
