Local pet stores?
Do we have any local pet stores or reptile/fish experts?
Also taking recommendations for excellent vets experienced in reptiles just in case.

I swear my next reptile will be a bearded dragon!! So cute!! That’s awesome to know! Thank you! I’ve only lived here almost a year so I needed some references, especially now that I have twice as many pets as when I moved here.

Also, check out the OK Reptile Show on Facebook. There will be many experts there that can answer some of your questions. The next one is Feb. 24 th.

If you're looking for Freshwater Fish there's a facebook group called Tulsa Freshwater Hobbyist that has a couple of breeders and you can often find people selling or giving away plants. Not as reliable as a retail store, but better than giving money to big box stores you don't like.

There are a handful of fish places, not as many as there used to be though. Fresh or saltwater? I don't know if many reptile places though.

I've gotten some healthy fish from Pet Supplies plus at 61 st & Memorial and the person who runs their fish stock seemed fairly knowledgeable but it's a fairly new store. Avoid the PetSmart at 71 st & 169 at all costs. Also, I have a love/hate relationship with Aquarium Oddballs, for the most part they know their stuff but I'm not super fond of their attitude but I don't know if it's because I'm a woman or I caught them on bad days or what. They get interesting fish in though and although I always quarantine first I haven't had any issues with fish from them. As for reptiles I can't say I know of anyone in Tulsa.

[Sorry to be late to the party, but I highly recommend Dr Matthew Sellers at Advanced Care Veterinary Hospital in Sapulpa.](https://www.advancedpetvet.com/)
I've taken my reptiles to a couple vets around town, and while we weren't unhappy with the care we received, I definitely felt like their focus wasn't on reptiles, but they knew enough to offer the service. Like I said, we were happy with the care, but with the HUGE amount of misinformation that is spread throughout the hobby regarding proper reptile/amphibian/fish husbandry and care, I really wanted to find someone who specialized in reptiles.
Dr Sellers is registered with the Association of Reptile & Amphibian Veterinarians. I was actually SUPER impressed because obviously he's extremely knowledgeable, but the office has a dedicated reptile/exotics vet tech as well.
We went to him for a general check up for a new rescue beardie we got and he spent more than an hour with us answering questions and discussing husbandry. We got a fecal test done as well to make sure everything was good to go, and the bill for everything was like $70.
Their services are super affordable and everyone that we've interacted with has been really great. I mean it when I say they really go the extra mile for their patients. Our dog and cat already have a vet, and we are happy with them, but I'm not opposed to moving the entire family to Advanced Care in the future.
