Watch repairs - recommendations? I picked up a vintage watch and the seller recommended I get it serviced - ie. cleaned and oiled.
Anyone know of a good watch repair...

Landmark Clock Shop Ltd at 8704B Meadowlark Rd. (780-413-0536). They did an excellent job on my mother's vintage Wittnauer watch. They did have to send it to Toronto to be fitted with a piece. Don't know if there are any shops in Edmonton who wouldn't have to get parts elsewhere.

Tai Wa watch repair in Chinatown - 9700 105 Ave. It's not the nicest place in town, but I've never brought them anything they can't fix, no matter the vintage.

What brand is it? Is it mechanical, a chronograph? One of the go to watch repair / service shops in Canada is Archer Watcheshttp://www.archerwatches.ca/service.html. A typical service should run you between $500 and $700 dollars depending on the complication of the movement.

This seems to literally get asked every month. Europa Watch & Jewelry in West Edmonton Mall has excellent workmanship. They should be able to handle rare and older pieces.

Walter at the watch shop at the end of Europa Blvd, WEM. I have a few watches there with him for servicing. He is busy though.

There is an English guy at the bay southgate who has over 20 years of experience. He fixed a watch for me and I would recommend him

A couple years ago I got mine fixed at Tai Wa Watch & Clock Co9700 105 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5H 4J1

What type of watches? For higher end you will struggle to find a good shop in Edmonton. If you are not looking to service with the manufacturer then Archer watches in Ontario is probably the most well regarded option. He typically has a few months wait list. His website and Facebook pages are quite poor but if you pop onto any watch forum you will find glowing reviews.

Design Jewelers in West Edmonton Mall. They are located on the top floor near phase one. Next to American Eagle? My father suddenly passed away and I was given his ring, the stone was in danger of falling out and every place I went to said I had to leave it overnight. Design Jewelers originally said that but when they saw I didn't want to part with it they put a rush on it. Their kindness has made them #1 in my books.
