For in home try Carol she also has experience with the breed- she's a behaviourist. Here's her website but she also has a fb group. http://www.soul2 souldogtraining.com/AboutMe/tabid/80/Default.aspx
Lynn G. replied:
Bilinda Wagner with k9 misfits, EHS or Dawn with Red Dog Training. All positive and have experience with the breed.

If it's severe issues like sep anxiety, leash reactivity, DA, etc then you need a behaviourist. I really like Carol with Soul2Soul Dog Training & Behaviour. Trainer- I'd say EHS - they are positive based & have the experience to back it up. See Spot Run is great too- not sure what types of things you want but she's an amazing agility teacher on south side. K9 Korruption in St Albert is great too. I could go on & on. Request to join "Beyond Cesar Milan" on group Facebook - lots of great info on there

Aversive trainers get the job done, but not without potentially damaging side effects. Here's a great journal article that talks about this: https://vet.osu.edu/assets/pdf/hospital/behavior/trainingArticle.pdf

Monika Stuehler Or Vicki DeCoste could probably help you too if you call the store they are the trainers there. I'm unsure if they have more since i've left but! Both of them are great at what they do... 780739-DOGS (3647).

Jaida Lee Cooper she had a lot of experience with the breed. She has 2 pits of her own she also breeds and shows them

Harness isn't usually the best deterrent for pulling..in my experience with my staffys anyways, it actually made them pull more... I had to buy a special anti pull collar for her and its worked wonders. I use a martingale collar and the first one listed here :) http://www.petexpertise.com/dog-training-article-comparison-of-no-pull-dog-training-aids.html

Does anyone know a Certified Dog Trainer (for basic obedience training) in our Community? Ideally one that makes house calls but if not, one in the area would be great.

Hello, I am a Certified Dog Trainer and I live on the South Side. My business is Family Dawgs Training. I do private in home sessions and Outdoor Group Classes where every class is at a different outdoor location to provide you with all the real life sights, sounds distractions while training your dog. My next group class begins mid September. You can email me at brandi@familydawgs.ca for more information. I also do very similar stuff like Monika at Paws In Paradise (we have worked with some of the same trainers) however I do not do the board and train or doggy daycare.

Pack Leader Fitness is excellent. I had such a great experience with them and Chinook and was able to take everything I had learned to train Quinn when I got her. It's no-treat training, trains your dogs to listen on command because ultimately you're the "pack leader".
