I was a recovery nurse for 29 years and I agree, Dr. Roy Bowling is the best. Very good and particular about the care his patients get. Also is very personable and great at explaining to families. His patients do great. He gos to st, Mary's and downtown Jewish . The fact that is in his lower lobe is better than upper and I do agree that will be what any one will recommend, He will do great, Seen many many times,
Dayna R. replied:
I work on the floor at Audubon that takes patients after that very surgery. Dr. George Mikos would be my pick, hands down. Incisions are besutiful, one stitch, from the temporary chest tube and the rest is dermabond. Usually home the next day or day after.
Betty P. replied:
Its a money making disease. I lost my father to lung cancer and it spread after radiation. I got kidney cancer and wanted to use expertimental drug on me..........I did my own research and went the vitamin way. Suzzan Somers has many books out and she had cancer lot of different treatment out there that does not kill everything in your body. It a scarey thing and prayers for you and your family but PLEASE check out some of her books. Very smart lady. Spelled her name wrong sorry.

I saw Dr. Kommor at CBC on Kresge. I absolutely love the doctor's out there..... very caring and they listen to you.
Marine K. replied:
My husband has had upper removed on right lung and lower on left lung, has been treated for cancer on his bronchial tubes as well in the last 8 years. His Dr was William Parks the first time, the second was Roy Bowling and it was a bad experience and would not recommend him. As far as an oncologist for chemo Jeffery Hargis is awesome I credit him for my husband still being here radiation wise he went over to suburban hospital but cannot remember his name. Good Luck to you and keep your head up
Marlesa R. replied:
My Oncologist is Dr. Jeffrey Hargis. He is in with Norton Cancer Institute at Suburban Hospital. I have had cancer twice. He is amazing. He continually researches and can provide statistics. He has a wonderful bedside manner and his staff is excellent. I would DEFINITELY get another opinion. That's his life. Good luck and God Bless.
LeDonya D. replied:
Dr Kommer at Baptist East CBC clinic across from the hospital. A close family member has been seeing him for three years. He's the best. 897-1166
Rita K. replied:
Dr.Roy Bowling he did mine and he is a very caring dr.
Tina J. replied:
Dr Roy Bowling at Jewish is an excellent thoracic surgeon and he's very kind.
Deborah M. replied:
My mom was diagnosed with the same in 1989. The bottom portion of her lung was removed, she underwent 6 months of chemo and followed up with radiation. The cancer never returned even though against our wishes she continued to smoke. She passed away in 2010 from unrelated illness and 21 years later was still cancer free. My husband and I both have dealt with cancer and Baptist East Consultants in Blood Disorders and Cancer brought my husband from Stage 4 Lymphoma to remission and after 5 years declared him cured. I have nothing but praise for this group of Doctors. They occupy the whole 5 th floor of 4003 Kresge Way. As far as my cancer went, Dr. Janet Chipman at Baptist East performed my surgery as I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer, however, luckily I required no treatment following the disection of my colon. I have since had 2 non-cancer related surgeries performed by Dr. Chipman and consider her the best. Evidently, her fellow doctors consider her the best as she was voted top surgeon amongst her peers in Louisville Magazine. As you can tell, I am really on this band wagon. Not trying to be too graphic, but just wanted you to be aware that the word Cancer does not always mean the end for us. My prayers go out to you and your family as well as your Dad.
Carrol P. replied:
Doctor Vaseem Moulana in Etown and her husband is a lung doctor they are in the same office. She is very honest and very upfront with her patients. She has been the oncologist internalist hemotology doctor for my family for over 15 yrs. she saved my life twice and she has saved several other of my family members. JUST DON'T GO TO DOCTOR VESA SHE IS A CACK. HERE IS DOCTOR MOULANA'S NUMBER 270-769-9881. SHE IS LOCATED 1240 woodland drive Etown Ky. That is behind Hardin memorial Hosp. Good luck. Keeping you in my prayers.
Sarah M. replied:
I am so thankful for all the recommendations and stories!! He now sees Dr. Bowing and he has been great. I lost my Mom 3 years ago to cancer. I just want to make sure we explore all options and this monster is gone!
Renee H. replied:
My dad has stage 3 lung cancer he also has lymph nodes cancer. We see Dr. Chi at Norton Cancer Institute and they are amazing. My dad's is to far gone for surgery. Praying the chemo and radiation works.
Andrea C. replied:
Dr Stevens at norton Suburban is the best medical oncologist or Dr Patrick Williams. Dr Aaron Spalding is the beat radiation oncologist. I have worked with these drs for years and I would trust my family with them.
Carolyn T. replied:
Dr. Stevens is my oncologist and I really like him. As far as Surgeons I've always used those at Louisville General Surgery. I would recommend if your diagnosis is from Norton, get second opinion at Brown Cancer and vice versa.
Melinda S. replied:
Dr. Bowling is good, but make sure you find a doctor that isn't biased against smokers. My mother suffered due to the attitude that she had caused her cancer and therefore, deserved to die.
Amanda L. replied:
My dad got diagnosed with lung cancer in August of 2013 and had half of his lung removed. His psychologist is Dr mendieta, he is wonderful, and his cancer Dr is Dr Driscoll at Audubon hospital's cancer center. His Doctors are great and Audubon has always been a wonderful hospital. He's been cancer free since March! Good luck to your dad.
Jaclyn G. replied:
You may think I am bias since I work there but it really is an amazing office. From the people who check you in to the doctors themselves everyone is helpful and nice. My dad was with another oncologist until I started there and within my first week I demanded he come to our office. SO I am on both sides of this. Patient family member and employee! Sorry to here this news:(

Martha green for primary care she's in the Hmh office at Cool Springs. Very nice
Melanie P. replied:
Dr. Craig for ortho!!
Cindy G. replied:
Russell McKinley 4 foot doctor, Marcus Craig for your ortho needs and heartland primary care for primary physician

Tamara W. replied:
FCC Etown (Andrea Watson or Martha Green), FCC Helmwood (Dr. Nasir) or FCC Freeman Creek (Dr. Prather, Erin Bryant, APRN or Brooke Taylor, APRN) for primary care. Angela Thomas, APRN is the best at Heartland Primary Care. For Orthopedics, I would see Dr. Kreuger or any physician at Etown Ortho.
Lisa O. replied:
Dr Krueger for the ankle!
Rachel D. replied:
Heartland Primary Care on Ring Road (I see Tiffany Robinson for general stuff, but Dr. Ingram is my actual doctor). I love them there. I don't know about a specific doctor for your ankle, but maybe they would have a recommendation--or I'm sure someone else here will know someone good.
Rachel D. replied:
Try Russ McKinley for your ankle. Not sure what kind of problems are occurring, but I really appreciated him for my ankle surgery.

For ankle either Dr. Bean or Dr. Craig. I had Crag for shoulder surgery and Bean for a broken leg. Both are top of the mark.

Ginger S. replied:
Dr Andrea Watson. Love her. She is in practice with Dr Green someone else recommended. They are in the Cool Springs Center. The office staff is great and I did see one of the PAs and had a great experience as well. She does family medicine and I know someone that took their child there and had a great experience.

Vanessa W. replied:
Heartland Primary Care. My regular is Dr. Ingram, but I've seen just about everyone in practice there in the 10+ years I've been going. They are all great. Nikki Nohava Cetta, wait is always minimal there, both in waiting area and in back.
Melissa B. replied:
We enjoyed Dr Robinson on Ring Rd/Next to family acute care. Heartland Primary maybe. Atleast for routine kids physicals and strep visits - she had a great friendly disposition. Can't say on other more serious visits.
Sarah P. replied:
The new family care clinic in Radcliff- Jennifer McCourt, FNP is great. I worked with her for several years before she left Ft Knox. I don't recall anyone who had anything bad to say about her:)

Dr. Abayev next to the High School in Valley...Valley Health. Excellent doctor. I would go no where else unless I absolutely had to.
Dana D. replied:
Dr. Sphielberg or Dr. Nair both are really great doctors.
Amanda S. replied:
The physicians at southend medical are Jewish physicians. They accept Humana but because of my employer I can only see Norton's physicians. Thanks Dana I am going to call Amy byerly!!!
Sarah H. replied:
Dr. Nair...both of them
Sarah H. replied:
http://www.nairinternalmedicine.com/ My surgery was six weeks ago.I had a brain tumor the size of a softball. My Neurosurgeon was nice, but not overly nice as he was kind of quiet. ..But, he is revered as the best in Kentucky. ..Even he thought I would be paralyzed and lose my ability to speak. But, I went by his credentials his personality and thank God I did.The Nair"s are internal medicine which is a much higher level then a regular M.D. God Bless!

Steve L. replied:
Dr. Sphielberg is amazing - Very to the point and also good at diagnosing things
Suzanne M. replied:
Caritas Valley Medical at Dixie Manor also has some good docs.
Joe P. replied:
Dr Nasir at Southend medical. I moved from an eastend doctor to him. Listens to you and doesn't talk down to you like he is the superior one like mist DR's. If you know what's wrong and you go to him, he will actually listen to you and help with what you need. Love him.
Dana H. replied:
^^^Amanda, that happened to me too. I saw Dr. Marchal for years and loved him. Although when I switched to the Norton doctors office there on Dixie, I started seeing Amy Byerly and I really like her. She's funny and relatable and she listens to you. You might try her and see what you think.
Mirrissa R. replied:
I feel DR Nasir has a good sense of humor and a bedside manner that most doctors these days are lacking, he's very thorough and Joe Perkins is right he actually lilstens to you and spends time with you instead of rushing on to the next patient
Mirrissa R. replied:
Dana Hayse nice to know where Dr Byerly is now my brother used to see her when she was doing an internship at a dr's office on 3 rd street I'll have to tell him
Christy L. replied:

Dr. Dao was my doctor growing up. We always had to wait but she was the only doctor that ever cared. She knew everything about us, even our personal lives. It's a wait but she's an awesome doctor.

Dr. Dao is a horrible doctor an their staff is mmmm.. better hold my tounge, lets say misplacing files an such almost making my kids get double shots, but yes I use to go to Dr. Comptons office thats changed now, but an kosairs clinic is suppose to be good, I wish you luck girl!!
Mindy P. replied:
Radcliff pediatrics Dr Nguyen is amazing
Desiree M. replied:
Dr Ahmed at healthway. That's Landon's pediatrician. And it's my primary doctor too.
Sydney H. replied:
I would highly recommend Pediatric associates. I usually take Raylan to Dr. Ball and i went to her as a child as well. They're wonderful!
Chelsey D. replied:
I wouldn't recommend Dr.Baula. They are the same way and they aren't thorough when they can finally get you in. They're in and out in 5 minutes and act like its a big deal your child is sick. I hated them.
Chelsey D. replied:
I understand that! We go to Dr. Nguyen now. He's a little hard to understand but such a good doctor. They've gotten Aivery in twice now within an hour after I call and I've never had to wait more than a few minutes. And of course his diagnosis is correct unlike Dr' baula who completely misdiagnosed Aivery and she ended with a severe eye infection called preceptal cellulitis.
Candace S. replied:
Laura mills at Norton health Care! She's a nurse practitioner, but she is absolutely amazing. I highly recommended her, I couldn't imagine a better Care giver for Natty then her!

Emily P. replied:
Dr Nethers is amazing!
Kimberly M. replied:
Dr Nethers, he is funny, easy to talk to, compassionate I lost a baby at 3 weeks of age he was my Dr the whole time and liked an hour being on call to deliver him Dr Sebree, did deliver him. When he passed away I came from Louisville to his office to ask him for something for my nerves. It was a very hard time but while there he took directions to the church and when the funeral would be. He drove all the way to North Stephens burg to pay his respects. He also wrote me a letter of recommendation for a job I have and he has taken care of my mom he took an ovary out on mom saw a place and she was scared she says please take care of me in his office he put his hand on her shoulder in front of me and my dad and says I will take care of you like you were my mom. This is why when I had my last son I went back to him and he remembered my situation so he was extremely careful and cautious. I wouldn't go to anyone else I know a lot of the dr.s via working at hospital and many are great but with my experiences he outshines them all. God bless you I hope everything works out for you.
Emily P. replied:
Kimberly Mosley he is just the greatest. Hands down!

I had a miscarriage after an exam with Dr. Henderson. I saw Dr. Hamilton after that. He was very patient with me and took his time during our appointments. I developed pre-eclampsia and delivered at U of L with another doctor, but Hamilton caught it early so we both faired better.
Krista F. replied:
Dr. Delacruz. He's the best! His main office is in bardstown though, but I promise he's worth the drive.
