Karen J. replied:
Dr. Summers is a great family doc. Teresa Beckett is great for ob/gyn care. Both are my health providers. I can vouch for Dr. Jackson. He's my husband, an internal medicine doc, and works very hard to give his patients optimal care. We moved from the west side to enjoy beautiful Ellensburg. We love the people and Ebrg. So glad we moved here!
Kerry P. replied:
I would recommend David Jackson, he is my Doctor and takes good care of me.
Ann L. replied:
My daughter is 7 and sees Dr Herman but has seen others at Ellensburg Pediatrics and all of them are very good and listen to you and the staff is very good at getting you child seen in a timely manner I've also had to use their on call number and they are very good at calling back quickly even late at night.

Ok kittitas county friends, I have a friend who just found out she is pregnant. It's her first baby and she is trying to find a good doctor. Any recommendations?...
Megan W. replied:
I love Dr. Herman and his nurse Debbie. In my opinion they are just awsome. I am sadly in the process of moving so I will no longer be able to see them but he delivered my daughter and started with this pregnancy as well. They are just super nice and really listen to any questions or concerns. Another thing I remembered that I love about Dr Herman is I was on vacation and morning sickness hit really bad, i still had a 5 hour car drive and flight cross country to take. I called Dr Herman, and even though I only had my bloodwork done at this point, he called in something for me for the sickness. He even called when they first opened since we had a three hour time differance.

Amber Q. replied:
I have had two of my three kids since living in Kittitas county. It was worth it to me to drive to Pearl Place Women's in Tacoma. Being her first, she'll likely have plenty of time to get wherever she chooses when the time comes. However, I think if I were to choose to give birth locally, I'd go with Stephanie Brower at Family Health Care of Ellensburg now that Dr. Longo is no longer here.
Brook S. replied:
Dr. Rowles in Yakima! They do not admit infants or children at kvh, if your baby needed any extra support he/she would be headed to Yakima or the other side. With that said many people love all the above mentioned. 2 of 3 of mine were delivered in Yakima and only here due to an emergency c-section for 1 of them, thankfully he didn't need extra support!
Lana S. replied:
Yes Dr. Herman
Melissa S. replied:
Dr Herman is the BEST!
Valarie R. replied:
DR HERMAN! He and his nurse, Debbie, are by far the best:). When I have another in a couple years I plan on calling them immediately!

Melissa S. replied:
Dr Elise Harman for sure! She is awesome! Just today my son had an ear infection so I called her and she came in to see him in office! Saved us a trip to the ER! Kvh Women's health Dr Longo and Teresa Beckett are amazingfg
Kayla T. replied:
Dr. Sand goes above and beyond for his patients, he has physically walked me to the hospital and made sure I was okay during his work day before going back during my pregnancy and always squeezed me in regardless of his appointments when having complications. He has even called me personally everytime I had a problem after I was home to make sure I was doing okay and feeling better. He genuinely listens to your concerns and takes your thoughts into consideration
Jennifer D. replied:
Teresa Beckett, ARNP and Ginger Longo, MD!!
Beverly T. replied:
Dr. Sands,is definitely the only OB/ GYN in Kittitas County,I would use. Some women don't like him, because they Can't handle the truth. He doesn't sugar coat the truth . He is an amazing Doctor .

Looking for recommendations for an orthopedic doctor, preferably one that specializes in knee injuries. I've been considering Dr. Longo or Dr. Roux at Orthopedics...
Loraine V. replied:
I went to Dr. Roux & thought he was great.
Marisa H. replied:
I've been seeing Dena Mahre at KVH Orthopedics for my knee injury this past October. She's great! Very helpful, knowledgable, personable, and easy to talk to. She's great about sitting down with me, explaining everything, and answering all of my questions.
Felicia H. replied:
You have to have your primary recommend that you see an ortho:) I'm currently seeing Longo at NW Orthopedics here in town. I like him, he really listened to me
Deanne V. replied:
Has anyone seen Dr Kennedy at NW Ortho?
Larry T. replied:
Dr. Boss is considered one of the best in the northwest. He could practice, anywhere.
Wendy W. replied:
I really liked Dr. Roux! Orthprdics NW is great!
Wendy W. replied:
Dr. Bos too!
Sheila S. replied:
My husband had knee surgery and rotator cuff surgery with Dr. Longo. He was very thorough and even though the rotator cuff failed, he gave us the options to fix it and answered all our questions. Dr. Bos impressed me when he did my husbands knee surgery by coming to talk to me during surgery to tell me what were the options. We actually like both doctors.
Geri N. replied:
Dr Longo took great care me and my knee. He works some days in Eburg now too. His office is by Riteaide.
LaVelle C. replied:
Dr. Roux
Jennifer W. replied:
Dr Longo did a fabulous job putting my knee back together
Jennifer B. replied:
Dr. Longo is amazing and KVCH really made a stupid decision when they let him go. He is a very competent and caring specialist who saved my brother's leg!
Laura S. replied:
Dr. Bos is by far the best orthopedic surgeon in the area. His bedside manner, his exceptional relationships with his surgical team is unparalleled. I know several people who have had knee surgery as well as someone who has worked with him in surgery; all speak very highly of him and wouldn't go to anyone else. He has an office in the clinic next to the hospital.
Darcie C. replied:
Dr William Wilson at OPA next to Swedish. He's the best. He believes in using your own parts instead of replacement. Repaired my left knee when everyone wanted to replace it. He will be doing my right next. Great guy and place.
Are there any secular doctors in Ellensburg who take Group Health? I'm looking for a primary care physician and Family Healthcare is out of the question. Thanks!
Joannie C. replied:
Not all the docs at Family Health Care preach.... And they no longer ask (me, anyway) about prayer requests when I check in. The PA-C there is awesome - Ryan Beachy. He's never once been "church-y" with me. I get why you want to avoid FHC, but you can find a good provider there who won't shove religion down your throat.
JoAnn R. replied:
KVH Clinic in Cle Elum might have openings, you might get a lecture if you smoke but that would be it.
Judi H. replied:
We use Community Health and KVH. I think the doctors at Community Health actually put more effort into seeking what's really an issue (whatever you've gone in there for)...I feel like KVH just wants everyone to THINK they are fine and being hypochondriacs when in fact there is a good chance there is something actually wrong. Like when I was worried about a spot on my back for almost a year and a half...and finally after hearing "it's fine, it's probably just a place where your cloths are rubbing the skin" at least three times I decided to find an oncologist in Seattle - it was just the tip of the iceburg... We have never experienced the issues of the 'front desk people' at Community Health that some are talking about. We call, get an appointment and have never waited more than 15 minutes for an appointment.
Katy P. replied:
I hated Community Health personally. Mostly due to the front staff.
Samantha F. replied:
Im secular humanist as well, and I went to Family Healthcare for general stuff for years. They dont take my new insurance and Im kind of disappointed. They can always get you right in, they do a lot of stuff in house, and the facility is clean and new. I never got a religious sermon from them. I did get that they are religious, but they never bothered me. I had been seeing mostly Ryan Beachy as well. If they take my new insurance then I will go back for general stuff. I see others for womens related things.:)
Jim H. replied:
I can also say that at no time has anyone at Community Health confused medicine and religion.
David D. replied:
I have enjoyed Community Health and having Mara Fusfield as my phyisican. She is PA-C but I wouldn't trade her for anything. I can understand your desire to have a doctor, and, doctors office, that isn't filled with religion.
David D. replied:
I am mostly in the same camp as Samantha. I used to be a patient at Family Health Care years ago. I left due to the same reasons as her, and the fact that they weren't willing to keep my entire family on due to an insurance change. One can tell they, as an organization, are religious. There are bibles in patient waiting rooms, questions asked about prayer requests, and some of the staff don't keep religion to themselves. My personal stance is this shouldn't be the case for a medical provider. But, they are a private business, so, they can do as they please. I have wondered, given the small community we are, and the limited access to doctors, with restrictions to that access due to insurance companies requirements, if they should be more aware of this for the community at large. Just my thoughts. I was JUST in one of their waiting rooms while going to an appt with my mom. She didn't have a choice on whether to go there, or somewhere else. She was seeing a specialist from Memorial who was renting space in their building.......and there it sat in plain view. The Bible. I AM biased in this respect. I don't practice any religion. My mom does, so I didn't say anything about my observation. If it were me not having a choice, and having to go there for an appt, it would bother me a lot. Just food for thought.:) DD
Allyson R. replied:
I have had great experiences at KVH family medicine (Dr. Summers), but I have heard they may not be taking new patients. I had a similar experience at Family Health, and disliked being required to fill out a questionnaire about my prayer requests every time I checked in.
Larae S. replied:
That's not the first time I've heard that about Family Healthcare. As a Secular Humanist, that makes me very upset. I hope you are able find someone who will put your care first! ☺️
