Anyone ever been to Myrtle beach, ocean city or VA beach? If so anywhere you would recommend? Hotels, vacation rentals, campgrounds with rentals? Thanks!!
Joe B. replied:
Murrells Inlet South of Myrtle about 7 min from the airport. Much quieter and cleaner than down town Myrtle.

https://www.vrbo.com/1159706?unitId=1707960 Hi all! Our house is booking and this is making us very happy! We still have plenty of weeks available in April, May, August, September and October. These are awesome times to visit! April and May are just warming up! The last two weeks of August are consider peak weeks as the resort is in full swing however, rates are reduced... Don't forget, September and October as the weather is beautiful and the kids are back in school. September and October is a great time for 'stroller families' and families with kids out of school. Please spread the word. We are trilled to be sharing this vacation home with others.

We grew up going to Ocean Lakes Family Campground
Diane M. replied:
VA Beach is the cheapest and cleanest. Wonderful for families and so much to do. You will love it.
Dennis D. replied:
Ocean Lakes or Lakewood in Myrtle are great. Lots to do with the family
Josh N. replied:
Ocean Lakes is the best. Water park for kids and great community
Dale W. replied:
We have been to Ocean City. A lot of fun. We were on the ocean, but we didn't stay on the boardwalk, because we like it a bit quiet. We have also been to Virginia Beach, a lot of fun. We use VRBO.com and Homeaway.com and got condos to rent. In Virginia Beach if you want more residential there is Sandbridge beach, next town over. And Rehobeth Beach is the residential of Ocean City. Wasn't as impressed with Myrtle Beach, but thats my opinion. Ocean City and Virginia Beach had a lot to do, or not. Virginia Beach is also close to Bush Gardens and Williamsburg.

Apache campground is great, they have rental units. My BFF lives there. Clean, lots of activities, had the pier. Barefoot Landing is great, broadway at the beach, tons of restaurants, Wonder Works, Sky Wheel, helicopter rides... lots to do
Natalie P. replied:
Myrtle Beach has been my families second home for years, we even got married there. Best advice is that almost every hotel has coupon books in the lobbys with tons of saving. Take advantage of the early bird specials, you won't be sorry. Have a great trip!
Hello! Question, those who have visited Disney, what's a good hotel to stay at?!
Rose D. replied:
I stayed at the Polynesian. We had s Disney planner take care of everything. She is paid by Disney. She is excellent. Message me for information
Matthew B. replied:
I've only stayed onsite. There are more park hours available when you stay on site. Port Orleans Riverside is fantastic. The Contemporary is ok. It's nice being able to walk to the Magic Kingdom. Samantha one of the things you might want to consider is any specials Disney might be having.

What are some good, not crazy expensive vacation ideas with young kids in August with things to do in that area? Hotel or campground suggestions welcome too
Lori S. replied:
For the past few years we have been renting a cabin (not the same one every year) in Maine. There are lots of lakes in Maine and for pretty reasonable prices we have been able to rent a cabin right on the water with swimming, canoes and kayaks. Our kids love it. We usually use homeaway.com to find a place.

Does anyone know of any actual discounts to Disney/Universal park tickets in Orlando through AAA, Costco, BJs or other reputable places? I've seen "package" discounts...
Michelle M. replied:
Shannon we recently went to Disney. I did a lot of shopping around. I found that buying tickets directly through Universals website was the cheapest. I believe it was between $5-$7 more a ticket at AAA. Buying Disney tickets through Disney and AAA were the same price. Good luck!
