You can check reviews for roofers on Yelp.com or better yet, check with your homeowners insurance agent. I just went with GBS Enterprises Roofing. They work closely with State Farm and were recommended by my insurance agent. Whomever you choose, do NOT pay them a dime until the job is complete and to your satisfaction. Legitimate roofing companies do NOT ask for $$ up front, even for materials. Also, if a roofer is "weeks or months out to start the job," send them packing. My State Farm adjuster came out today, inspected my property, cut me a check, and GBS came out shortly after with an estimate that aligned with the adjuster's quote. They start work this Thursday and will be done this Thursday. Then they will be paid.
